Royal Botanic Gardens & President’s Grounds Trinidad Caribbean

Friends we are in the president’s grounds in the republic of Trinidad and Tobago which is islands in the Caribbean we are on the island of Trinidad and this is within the area of the capital core Port of Spain the crowns are the president’s grounds because that house that you see all the way in the back there that’s the house of the president of the country.

President's Grounds and Royal Botanic Gardens Trinidad Caribbean Walk through by JBManCave.com

The current president is her Excellency Paula-Mae Weekes

and these are some of the beautiful flowering plants within the grounds

in times past people would come here to have their weddings wedding photos

I don’t know if they have to ask a special permission for that or not I guess there’s a schedule

but because of the pandemic a lot of this area was closed and was only recently opened and I decided let’s come and take a look now I have a video of the president’s crowns from a distance that’s near to side of Savannah but I don’t I i didn’t actually get on the ground so today we get on the grounds

it’s seven o’clock in the morning so the sun is rising in the east to my back creating a shadow on some things

but nevertheless you can see the beauty of the place and why people would want to come here to do their wedding photos and so forth

now Trinidad and Tobago is independent and a republic but before that they were a British colony

and they had a governor general so this would have been the governor general’s house

but since becoming a republic we have a president and so this is the president’s house

but it has maintained that colonial architectural design

and of course because we’re in a Caribbean there’s a lot of plants and trees to show off the extent of the kind of flora and fauna we have here

normally this head would block your view of the house from this close so I’m using the extension rod to see over it

and I don’t know if you can hear it if you’re using a phone you may not be able to hear it well but if you’re watching this on your computer your laptop or with a headphones you will be able to hear all the birds chipping that’s one of the really nice things about visiting both the President’s grounds and the Royal Botanic Gardens early words they really do sing and sing aloud

now the actual grounds that is available to the public is not large

by the time we pass here we would have covered all of it

sometimes you can look well and you may see birds in the trees

and you’ll notice that I left audio for that very purpose so that you could hear the boots

unfortunately you’ll also hear the cars that are going along the Queen’s Park Savannah which is a very large open area in the middle of this city and I believe one of the if not the largest roundabout in the world

in order to get from point a to b you have to go around it and the grenades one is about two and a half miles

of course it presents grounds anywhere botanic gardens are great places to come sit and meditate

as well as exercise in fact as we head towards the botanic gardens you will see that a lot of people are taking the opportunity to exercise

a slight inclined it so going up can give you a larger workout than going down of course and then many paths so it’s not like one round or overlooked like an Olympic Stadium but they’re different uh pathways so you can always change up the way you go in and out of the botanic gardens to make it more enjoyable one of the interesting things about here is that a lot of these trees are labeled so you can see what they are and what they’re about to put these scientific and common names

there’s no charge to come in any of these places these are open public areas

and why I like to come at this hour of the day is because it’s very um quiet besides the cause you know late in the evening on weekends you’d see lots of children here running up and down making noise and so forth and it doesn’t make for a serene environment

somebody made a steel pawn outfit there using metal works I showed some of that in the

vegan videos when I went to vegan festival there was somebody there that seemed to specialize in them those of you who have not been to the botanic gardens in many many years will see that there are no information centers and buildings to your right I have never been in it and I I’m not even sure if it’s public accessible there’s always these security cards and I’m not sure what else is there

like all places there are rules

see if you can read all those rules of blues and blues and atomic gardens

this is the main entrance where we attend where we turn here this would be the main entrance to the botanic gardens and if you follow that path you would go straight up to the other end of it which we will do but in doing so I will you know panel bit to the left and the right and so forth to give you an idea of what you would see if you came here

besides um

you know the beaches and so in my personal opinion the botanical gardens and in its prime when it’s clean the grass is cut and so forth is the best eye candy the country has to offer

and I’m saying besides the beaches and whatnot I mean it’s really nice because you get so many trees so many boots the serenity of it

you know it’s well kept

uh and I will say world cup most of the time sometimes there are those delinquents that will throw their stuff here and there but usually by the next day the workers will come and take care of that

and using my extension pool gives you a really good view of it than you would have otherwise seen if you were just walking normally

and in case you’re a first-time visitor to JB’s Man Cave this is how I do a lot of my videos I try to make it raw so that you can get a feeling of what it’s like it you know my channel is not about racing through things or just being fast and highlighting and jumping through stuff but to calmly move from one step to the next so you can actually feel like you are there the idea is to is if you are watching this on a big screen you could sit back and relax and just take interview

and as always JB’s Man Cave is not only about walking and road trips all looking at nice Caribbean stuff but I do cover other issues self-awareness crazy driving veganism and so forth

those are all on my channel as well JB’s Man Cave

anyway if you’re watching this video from embedded in another person’s webpage just know the main channel is JB’s Man Cave when you can watch it all day

those little gazebos or huts are good for picnicking they’re left we’ll visit those later so you don’t have to worry we’ll take a good look at them on our way back

now I have been coming here since I was a child and I can honestly say except for one or two new trees here and there it is relatively the same they have kept it the same all through these years

any slight changes I could say are the most noticeable uh what I already described the buildings to the front

and

you know new plants planted here and there that you wouldn’t have seen before like this little patch of garden to your left that’s fairly new but it’s you know it’s not a huge impact on the rest of the gardens I i would guess it’s a new project as well

foreign

in my opinion this hourly morning is the best time to come here just for the peace and quiet fresh air but uh anytime after 10 and a lot of people start to come and late in the evening even more will come so if you’re the kind of person that likes traffic well then those are the hours to come

not building any back um I used to know it as the ombudsman building but I don’t know what it is now it used to be an old wooden structure and I threw it down seven years ago and put up that concrete structure

in my teen years I used to love to run through here and would actually run through it in the evening it was a good job it was one of the nicest jogs to run up hill the incline is just enough to give you a a little bit of a workout but not really take your breath away if if you’re accustomed to running because if you’re not accustomed to running any kind of one will take your breath away

seems like they’re doing some clearing here normally see all this rough edge on the ground

just taking in that flower

group of flowers patch of flowers

oh and on the left here is another if you haven’t been here for many many years when I left it is another fairly new part um I don’t know if I would call it a nursery or what but they do have like orchids and other I guess more fragile or more valuable plants in there not sure if it’s open to the public whether you contour or if they have um so guys to show you’re wrong but it’s more I have never really seen it open as let any public just walk in and out most every time I see these gates closed if you know more about it you can always feel free to comment in my YouTube channel

as far as safety goes it’s relatively safe

like anything else you have to be on your guard I wouldn’t come here in the evening after dark in fact um it used to be that you could come in the botanical gardens at any time but that was changed um some years ago when there were other crimes and robberies used to happen here because people were coming at night so they I believe they closed it after a certain time but in any case you know these kind of isolated places you wouldn’t want to be wrong at night

I’m sorry for that wobbly effect sometimes I’m tired of holding the extension rod or I’m not holding it properly

and that causes that vibration it’s normally the stabilizer’s fault as much as mine

now this is another hidden area of the botanical gardens you know you could keep to the

normal path and when I say normal the path that doesn’t deviate from that relative big oval or circle this little path here that’s closer to the um president’s house has some very very nice trees and flowering plants that you can take a look at there’s also a nursery here which again I have never seen accessible to the public

I would imagine if there are students of horticulture agriculture or whatever have you botany they would come here to conduct their experiments grow stuff or whatnot

now even though I’m using the extension rod here and I’m filming in 1080p full HD I will be making other attempts to come here to film in different other ways and sometimes on my channel you will see me record and I’m saying film that’s really record because we no longer film anything I i will video recording the same place many times because it will be recorded in different ways and in different formats you know a higher resolution maybe a focus on certain things in fact I already have videos honey botanic gardens you know just watching parts of it if you haven’t seen those you can always look for them

now the only thing that breaks the um serenity at this hour are these lawnmowers the ones that are driven and also tractors pass through here we read walkers and

those are really loud and noisy I’m sure it disturbs the birds as well

it’s an unusual tree no leaves almost like it’s fall yet still it’s blooming flowers

to the left would be the president’s house there’s some little steps there you can get closer to it

a look

but the best way to see the president’s house is where we started from the president’s grounds if you’re interested in photography or if you want pictures or whatever that would be the best place to start this little section here’s lots of Bougainvillea plants those are shrubs that flower a lot I have a few videos on them and a lot of multi-colored ones here but they are not in a strong bloom at the moment usually when they are this whole area is full of color

now an unusual thing that people probably don’t take much attention to the fact that there’s actually a small cemetery in the middle of the botanic gardens and a lot of the names that are there may not be too familiar but one of the popular ones that everybody should know is Solomon Hochoy who was a governor general of Trinidad both before it became independent and right after

with him and his wife are both buried here

interestingly enough um was one of the first non-white governors of the British crown colony and he was

from a Chinese background I don’t know if he was mixed with anything else but having you know non-white person at that time was a big deal

now I don’t know if you can pick it up but when I came when I approached this cemetery if you if you have headphones and you turn up the volume a lot you may hear it but there’s a hum so strange home I don’t know if it’s just coincidence or not but when I entered the this area there was like a home on the microphone and then that happened oh where is that

ghost you think do you believe in ghosts

if you know more about the history of this symmetry and would like to tell us more educate us feel free to comment in the comments area of this video

you see this is the thing that would make sure that more appealing as if they had some sort of sign or explanation about what this little patch this little symmetry is about and some of the people buried here you know people could just read and educate themselves

are you the kind of person that feels a bit strange walking through a cemetery I know some people like to avoid cemeteries I find them very interesting it’s looking at the names the time period and I think um and this is my personal opinion but you know some more information about the piston buried should always be on this stone

you know not just the person and death dates but you know who were they what did they do something brief in general

leaving the um cemetery we will go towards the area with the huts wooden huts that allow you to picnic

to get to these um cuts you would have to

walk through the grass there’s no particular pathway

generally they are usually maintained well unless there are a lot of people let me leave their stuff there generally generally I’m seeing it’s well-maintained you can see where there’s a little bit of trash there and whoever comes to clean up I guess we’ll pick that up now you can walk up this hill we’re not going to do that today but if you walk all the way up you get a good view of Port of Spain

and you can see that from me just going to this little area here I’m not gonna like I said go all the way but you can just imagine that if you went all the way you know you would get get to see a lot of interesting stuff it’s a

fairly steep hill

it’s very beautiful to look at

and again I don’t know if you can hear it because on your phone you know the speakers are not great but if you put some headphones on you can really hear a lot of birds in the background

and I’m gonna pick up some of the birds right here and one in particular that goes to the ground to get something to eat see if you can spot it

do you see it

not sure what it

grabbed I’m not sure what they’re doing with those cut stomp seed efforts to make many stools out of them or what oh there’s the bird again seems to be getting a lot of food there and it’s just rich to pick up data because sometimes you would have to wait so long to get a shot like that

it’s nice that we were able to pick it up

you can see how steady and well these structures are you can um bring your food and picnic there I I’m not sure if you have to make a reservation I’m not

see there was a tractor and what was funny is that he was trying to walk and then he tried to just suddenly stop on and she was probably saying to herself you know what the fudge

she wasn’t sure what it was going stopping or whatever

she goes around it

so I hope you enjoyed our walk around the President’s Grounds and the Royal botanic Gardens um there’s a vehicle passing there but other than that I’m gonna leave you to hear the natural songs of the botanic gardens and to have another few minutes listening to nature

feel free to leave comments in my YouTube channel and if you are not a subscriber please do subscribe I have many videos like this some covering other islands in the Caribbean and even other countries in outside of the Caribbean so I would love to have your support do like to subscribe let your friends know thank you and keep watching

North Coast Road Trinidad Road Trip part 2

Hello friends so we are on the second part of the road trip on the North Coast Road of course if you want to see me come into here you would have to see the first part but in this second part basically I am going to reverse out turn around and head back this is a long road that follows the north coast of Trinidad and this was the end of it basically I mean there’s a little space up ahead but nothing really is just a lot of mud and I didn’t want to get stuck there so I figured I’ll just turn around but this is as far as you can go basically.

North Coast Road Adventure PART TWO Trinidad and Tobago Caribbean Road Trip by JBManCave.com

and so we’re gonna head back for those of you from abroad who are not familiar with Trinidad and Tobago this particular island is called Trinidad it’s of course a tropical island and Trinidad is located in the southernmost southern most part of the West Indies the Caribbean it’s the last island in the Caribbean to the south and it’s near to Venezuela so if you can’t find internal map um look have a look and look for Venezuela and then look east of Venezuela you will see what looks like the shape of a little boot uh china has this ship looks like a boot at least the foreign as it does

it’s a small island

around 1.31 1.4 million people here

so it’s has a high population density today is a sunny day with a lot of clouds there’s sometimes Saharan dust but that doesn’t really bother us because we will be um covered by the overgrowth of trees on both sides of the road

this road by the way I mean this part isn’t maintained well because hardly anybody comes here or you know just one or two people have been lived here or want to go on a hike this part doesn’t really maintain much but it was originally built by the us military during world war ii and this road stretches a good distance from one part of the island to the next

and to see how long it is you could of course look at the first part of my video but also a video called maracas which was the start of the journey and this is an example right here of what I’ve been seeing that it’s not really maintained there’s a lot of mud so if it’s your intention to come up here to see what it’s like make sure you’re driving a 4×4 you have mud tires all terrain tires a suv a truck or something you know I would not come in here with just a regular sedan or car or whatever because you’re gonna you’re probably gonna get stuck that pool of water ahead that’s probably you know has a foot or maybe two in some places drop so you want to make sure that you’re driving the right vehicle again to as I’ve said in my other videos about driving on the North Coast Road if you’re an inexperienced driver you just got your license or you don’t know how to drive or you’re not familiar with roads in Trinidad I would not recommend you driving here so if you just came from abroad and you think you know let me rent a car and go up the North Coast Road I i really recommend that you do not do that not only because of the road itself but because of the way people drive here it could give you a fright I actually have a whole series called crazy driving and Trinidad on my YouTube channel you can look for it and that’s to tell you how bad driving is here that I can actually have a series of videos on it that I update every now and again so I’m waiting for my son to get out of the vehicle and

um go on the other side I wanted to for effect have him record me going through all this mud I know mudders out there I’m not talking about mudders as in mothers is in muddy rs mud people like mud going through mud um would like to see that effect especially as I’m driving a d22 truck

why while he does that by the way I wanted to say that um JB’s Man Cave is not only about Trinidad Tobago or just the Caribbean I couple other issues I cover a lot of the islands but I also cover issues in the world thoughts on different places for instance Ukraine and the war there and these are things that the people have to go through I give some thoughts about it I mean cover social or when I say no I don’t want to say I cover politics I really don’t but sometimes you know some of the things that politicians do does wind me up and I might talk about it but mostly I talk about social issues I don’t really like getting into politics because people just start you know pushing their side their party or whatever and I’m not interested in party politics

this is a family friendly site my children are on the spectrum so sometimes I may also talk about that and I’m also vegan and sometimes I might have videos about veganism but I don’t push anything on anybody so this is me going through all that mud and water the vehicle

needs a good wash after this

well there’s lots of fun I mean if you like this kind of thing you know you’ll want to wind down your windows and enjoy the fresh air up here is really nice looking at the the green the bamboo and in this particular particular picturesque view you can see a lot of bamboo and as I have said before bamboo is good for um earth retention so that it prevents landslides and whatnot

so as my son gets back into the truck I also want to mention that you know feel free to subscribe to JB’s Man Cave and when I say subscribe you just have to press the subscribe button as a button that allows you to basically subscribe for free and subscribing allows you to stay in touch with me and it’s sort of your way of saying you know what I like JB’s Man Cave

but there’s also a like button so you can also like the video and whatnot so there’s a lot of overgrowth here but we are going to continue down this road and you will notice that on your right is basically a cliff a big drop to the ocean so again this is not a place for new drivers or drivers who just got their license or not sure of the roads or whatever you need to be an experienced driver to come up here and most of all I would not recommend if you are a foreigner or somebody unfamiliar with the roads in not to come up here either because I know some of you know you you come here you may want to rent a car and say um let me let me try that note coast road that jb went up but you know it’s not just about the road itself it’s the drivers on the roads I have a whole series about crazy driving in Trinidad and that’s how badly driver driving is here um sometimes I almost call it like a risk of course you don’t have crazy drivers all the way up here but basically on the roads especially the first part of the North Coast Road um going towards maracas you get a lot of crazy drivers and they will fly around corners and you can get hit if you can’t anticipate them

so this part of the road is fairly nice it’s paved but it you know we will go back towards muddy roads but as I was driving around here I was looking down a cliff and I was noticing that

I saw people and I thought wait a second I don’t see any path down but then I saw people walking and I stopped and sometimes you wonder you know should I go should I continue or whatever

because you know sometimes you don’t want to intrude on anybody and you don’t know if it is you know private land or a private area so I thought you know what I would just continue but then I said nah I suppose I’m missing an opportunity to record something good and then I decided look let me stop again and check

because you you could see the ocean there on your right and I was thinking hmm maybe there’s something really good to see down there and I am glad that I did because it enabled me to find a small beach that is public

and of course uh if you enjoy my videos and you would like to become a patron please do you can go to my site jbmancave.com

there’s a donate button there and feel free to give a known donation of any amount that you can there’s a select box so you can select how much you want to donate I appreciate all of you who have given donations both in the chat box as well as privately that’s really appreciated helps out a lot

but there’s no obligation and there’s no push for it it’s just if you can afford it so you can see somebody’s coming up there and I thought oh I would have never really found that so we got out and I’m gonna go down to our path if you ever come all this way where you can I believe see bathe now I have not tested the waters so do not take my tip or my hint of this beach as gospel make sure that you find out about the waters and test them because like I said in the maracas video it’s not just about what you can see above but what’s underneath if there are strong currents underneath that can pull you out and where we are going of course has no lifeguards so be very careful when I got down there I did not see anybody be there I only assumed that these people that we are we passed and that we will meet down there will be

I’m helping some of my children come down here they you know they are not a bit shy about coming on these kinds of areas because it’s a bit slippery you can’t tell

and so I i wasn’t able to hold the camera well at the same time

but I just love these kind of little trails it’s like you’re going down to something and you’re not sure what you’re gonna meet it’s like a surprise but it’s all the good thing about nature so based on how the leaves are and everything I can tell that when it rains this path that we’re going on gets would be very slippery I mean really slippery everything’s just coming on here although there’s a little uh river on the right

so if you see me pause it’s because I’m helping my son’s dog

but you get to see some of the vegetation too um and if you’re new to JB’s Man Cave you will know that I keep my videos raw at least most of them especially these road trips and when I say raw I’m talking about the fact that um you know most people will start to edit this out and keep it just on the niceties but I like to show you in a way that you can feel like you are there with me

so I don’t do much editing except the blue and then maybe if I see children or somebody up close I might blur them out

but this is a nice b it’s small but it looks pretty good it looks like it could be rougher

and I didn’t get close to the water either because um I’m wearing shoes I know you think that’s ridiculous but early in the day I had actually filmed the maracas video and had my shoes on

because I wanted to walk a lot I didn’t come with the anticipation of any sea bathing

it looks pretty good doesn’t it

and I do apologize for the bit of shakiness it’s I don’t know I have to adjust my stabilizer sometimes when I’m walking a lot I’m not really paying attention and stabilizes auto work

that’s just a little notice for you to remind you to subscribe subscriptions are free

just have to click the subscribe button

all right so now that

I have a

bit of time to severely beach I am going to

take the pool and put it here so you can just reminisce on the Caribbean sea

see the area is small but nevertheless it looks really good

you never know how nice on a beach is until you test the waters in the ocean and maybe that’s another time

now there are some guys fishing there as well and I was amazed at how how near to the um shore they were fishing which means it’s probably something good enough to be caught there

and that little piece there is always called camera tricks

so this little part here is what is a looks like a little river

where water would come from down a mountain and fall here into the ocean it’s just a trickle right now because it’s dry

so for my judgment this be if you ever found it

wouldn’t be too good to come when it’s raining and heavy now some people love to go see bathing when it’s raining which I find kind of odd but um and they took it at that time

the sound is enabled so you can hear the songs of the ocean i’d love to have this on the ocean it’s just so relaxing

there have been many studies about the effects of nature on the human mind on body this is something that you actually need and when I say something you need to come out and experience nature if you’re all pent up in your apartment or your air conditioner at your job please and you don’t just go into your car air conditioner again you really miss now you know you need the vitamin d from the sun the fresh air for your lungs the positive outlook for your mind and so forth and that can come only from nature itself just just looking at green as a positive outlook for the human mind

so if you’ve been thinking about going to the beach make sure and visit hopefully this is a bit of inspiration

I love to keep the camera as low as possible until the water gets there and then raise it

my particular camera that I’m using right now is actually not waterproof it’s very much exposed to the element so it’s a bit of a risk but I time it

so after that little tour we are going to go back up to the truck usually climbing up something that is slippery is a bit easier than climbing down

as is small tip when going down always go parallel including going up always put your feet um

why did I say parallel in the opposite direction of where you’re going up so if you’re going up your feet should be straight across perpendicular

that way you don’t fall you don’t want to keep your feet in the same direction of where you’re going what is dong or up

there’s another video that I’m gonna have out where I found we found another secret place similar to this it doesn’t take you to a beach but it does take you out to a place where you can look again I don’t recommend any of these things if you’re a faint of heart or you’re not adequately

blessed physically to maneuver places where you could slip on fall but you know take all the precautions so going back up to the road this is in North Coast Road I started to just stick in some of the scenery

again just showing you the raw because if you were here you wouldn’t be racing to get back in the truck race center go to the next place racing racing where he said no you would be just you’re not looking or wrong take any time to look at the leaves

and one thing about Trinidad and Tobago the vegetation is very exotic sometimes you would encounter things that may puzzle their mind

yeah I was checking for something that I heard in a tree sometimes you have to watch but hanging snakes in the bamboo snakes love the bamboo to hang high and drop

so you have to be very careful there are snakes that look just like the bamboo shoots so you have to pay attention to your surroundings

this is a little river we met at the bottom by the beach this is the start of it and you can see it’s kind of dry but I can well visualize what this might be like when it’s a lot of rain a lot of water going on to that beach

these are the um ATVs that you can um rent

they allow you to come all up here and I also captured this which is interesting see that fallen those are seeds but they float like if it’s snowing sometimes you can see a lot of them I don’t know if you can picture it any calm any lens in your view if you’re watching this on a big screen TV which is the best way to watch my videos you should be able to see them well if you’re watching this on a mobile phone you may not pick this up

it looks like a little cotton seeds I don’t know the scientific name if you do feel free to comment in the comment area but when you when you do comment please tell us what you’re commenting about because sometimes people will drop a comment but you know I have no idea what you’re answering so tell us what you’re answering and which part of the video you’re talking about

so I was really glad to get that sometimes it’s hard to get because you you know you may see it but you don’t have a camera in hand or it’s from a tree very far away

that’s our vision of snow for Trinidad I also have a another video about snow-capped mountains I don’t know if you saw it but it was about these clouds that covered the mountain in the same shape of the mountain it looked like if the snow was covering it was very interesting

so you can see how these roads are very narrow I’m amazed to see this one little barrier there

I think it’s really cool some people have you know their houses and stuff what they do is

you know to come out here and and you know set up a house or whatever is you know yeah you really have to think out of the box and love outdoors and whatnot and it’s an investment too I can’t imagine what it’ll be cause somebody to bring materials out there you probably really need to have your own truck to do it

this is the part of the road I was saying they they really need to fix it right there that’s a big drop down to the ocean and I’m not a geologist but somebody can tell me that red color to me is just clay and that’s not really strong

now here I gave my son the um camera for the same effect that we had in the beginning he’s gonna walk to the other side and capture the truck from him because this is the next piece of the worst roads on the north coast that I wanted to capture I actually captured in the first part of the other video part one a car coming through here yeah I know I told you only four by four but you could you will be able to see what happens with that car trying to come out there had to let all the passengers um

they he had to drive fast and you’d be cool with swimming all over the place so it’s not a place somebody lost their license plate there we didn’t just notice that they see this video they could come come back for it

this would probably make a good place to mountain bike as well as run but if you do run and if you do mountain bike you need to be ready to get muddy and I mean really muddy but you’re not really careful then because you try to go on a cliff side right there where my son is now you could fall if this look to be very careful

so that’s the truck coming

so you can get an idea of what it looks like

so

I really have to find a a better way to blow my sleep sometimes I forget to do a lot of stuff this is the same footage of me commentary mod but just from the angle of the truck

so you saw what it was like as somebody observing me coming and now you’re gonna see what it’s like inside the truck

and if you’re new to jv monkey if you wonder why inside the truck is always quiet and that’s because I mute this song because I always have my always but most of the time I have my family with me and I don’t care for you to hear all the conversation and what we’re seeing in fact you don’t need to hear that so I would mute it

I do have a

external mic setup but there’s sort of a compromise where it’s either the camera charges or I give you the external mic I need to get an adapter for that

but soon I will have that situation solved

and you’ll learn about that in the coming weeks some new plans I have

so if you have never been through a road with lots of mud like this this is what it’s like

and so I’m going to wait here for my son to come back to the truck in fact I think when I got here it was really too muddy for him to to come in so I moved up a bit

and then we’ll fast forward it a bit at some point because you don’t need to although I do have videos where I just leave it running real time

I call those let’s watch videos and I have a lot of videos where you’re just watching for instance a scene like this but we we spent uh a bit of time here so I’m just fast forwarded

so some of these places might have their own

um access to maybe a private beach or private b

and there you can see the coastline it’s really nice

usually when I make these road trips I tend to cover so much stuff and I know probably is saying oh you should come out there and record but you know basically I’ve been recording all the

but I also have some plans for that as well

when we first ended here it seemed like forever because you know you when you first enter an area you feel like wow do these roads ever stop does it ever stop being muddy and with so many portals and stuff but you know looking at it going back out is is the world is actually not so long it’s just that feeling of having to go slow and pass through these little challenge and obstacles that makes it seem long

oops

so here we are with more mud but you can see there’s a lot of residential areas around um houses here and there and you know the people up here keep their places looking really good huh I don’t know if there are resorts guest homes or what but it looks nice keeping and cooking the trees is like you know you can only see coconut trees when you come in these areas if you have seen any of my concrete building concrete empire videos meaning that you know the areas near the capital most and the familiar areas of Trinidad you’ll see this heavily built up and they just chop down all the trees in favor of buildings

you know as a tropical island we really need to keep it more green not to mention green is healthy as I expressed before good for your mind good for oxygen and whatnot

I wonder if any garbage trucks come through here and how often

if you know feel free to comment on my YouTube channel and within this video but if you do let me know what you answering because sometimes again people just answer but they don’t say what they’re answering so I really don’t know what they’re talking about

by the way if anybody a resort owner or you have a you know a beautiful place that you’d like to highlight I wouldn’t mind highlighting it you just have to invite me and let me know you can get email from my YouTube channel or use my website address jb mancave.com or jboard.com and send me an email let me know where you are what you have

I’m sure people would like to know about it because a lot of people come to JB’s month give an anticipation of what they could do or see when they come to Trinidad or even people in Trinidad I’ve had some comments where people have said they’ve never been to some of these places and in Trinidad and they use these videos to judge whether they want to come or not

now in case you don’t know not all my videos are raw like this sometimes I will create videos that are edited and spruced up with the effects and so forth

but um those videos normally address issues of specific countries and so forth where trips like this tend to be raw

because again the idea is that you need to feel like if you were there

feel all the bombs feel all the shakiness and whatnot

same with my walkthroughs

now by seeing those bridges we know we have come to the end of the muddy part of this road trip and I say the muddy part we still have our ways to go to get all the way back to saddle road and get past the other end of the North Coast Road however

you can see those um ATVs motorcycle what not coming they are coming because they are part of that same group

where you can rent their vehicles sometimes they gather there or elsewhere

so that’s one thing one option you have I talked about it in the first video

giving you two angles here one from the trucks camera and one me pointing out

right listen all this shot

so you can see what it’s like when you if you intend to rent just keep in mind that you you’ll likely be going through mud so we’re attack here for that

holy child

what’s up

so now that that started to be we will continue across the bridge and in continuing across the bridge I was finally able to see somebody

using a canoe is it

I’ll use the other camera at some point to capture that sometimes with shots it all depends on if you’re lucky sometimes you go to a place when you’re hoping to see something record you can’t see it and it’s only when you’re gone then it comes

that’s not yet another thing that you can do up here as well there’s a another beach on the cross on that side but I did not um

record that today

and I speed it up a bit here and for those people to come out

so if you notice most people will when I see those two bridges they will basically stay there and park they won’t go anymore because of the muddy areas but like like you saw from this video unless you go through those mud areas to to get to the other places you’re not gonna you’re missing out places that you could visit on the adventures in itself but we’re back on asphalt now and this will take us all the way back to Las Cuevas to Tyrico past Maracas keeping running off coast road until we reach south Europe

right here is an entrance you pay I think twenty dollars TT like three dollars u.s and I guess there’s something good there to see nice beachfront but I don’t I didn’t have access to that today usually it’s getting late for us and I mean this video in conjunction with um part one and the Maracas video was all done in one day so you know I’m pretty exhausted but don’t worry I will be coming back another day

and that’s blanche he shares beach on the right again a bit of it there but it’s just a lot of cars a lot of people so I didn’t even bother to be honest

I was checking it out to see if it calmed down a bit but it didn’t I really didn’t feel comfortable pulling out my um camera and start recording

so we continue on the road

now if you find there’s a mist in the sky that is Saharan dust comes all the way from Africa blown across the Atlantic and we get a lot of it here I there was a day that was really bad and I even made a video about it

if you want to see it and just make sure to do a search on my channel or you could ask any comments that you know you would like to see it and I’ll link the video to you I mean it was really bad it’s the worst I’ve ever seen it it literally was covering mountains you couldn’t see the mountains it’s almost Saharan dust

and of course you can always do any on a road made in Trinidad there are just numerous bottles

and I’m not stopping here I’m just waiting for these vehicles to pass so that I can continue

some of these roads once somebody parks on the road you really can’t pass unless there’s free traffic on the other lane

I don’t know what it’s like to live in a village like this basically kind of isolated from everybody else if you um are from Blanchisseuse or you spent a good time here that you gotta feel for the village feel free to comment and let me know what it’s like to live in branches how are you how you coop with getting access to various things that may be outside the bonds of the village you know have entered drive all that way to Port of Spain or Arima in order to get something or maybe you have do you have it set up here somehow that I don’t know a quarry or service or something doing that for you

i’d also be interested to know if taxis come all the way here I saw maxis

but I don’t have taxis do that too

what would be the price of a taxi from porter spin to here I could well imagine that would be astronomical

and when you reach here you know the road street is gonna take you to Blanchisseuse says road and that road will take you to Arima you can see this sign there on the left

whereas we are going to turn right and continuing North Coast Road

not sure why I stopped there

probably taking a picture of something

this church is a good landmark if you come in from this way which would be the North Coast Road

so let you know that junction isn’t there

as far as safety um these areas I don’t believe there’s you know these areas count on taurus coming in so people coming in should feel relatively safe because you know nobody wants to jeopardize the income that’s derived from people coming to visit banshee shares on the other beaches and stuff but like all things be you know be vigilant don’t be hunky-dory with the way you keep yourself on your belongings

there are people who I know like to walk around with all that jewelry and gold and show their fancy phones and highlight themselves and while yes you can you should not be able to have the freedom to do that and do it if you like but I’m just saying that there’s always somebody looking at you huh and you need to watch yourself be vigilant go in groups you know don’t do overdo it be cautious

I know somebody that um for instance they were on a beach and they took off their watch and left it on the um

on the sand with the towel and other stuff and they went in the ocean and you know was looking at at it from from there and they felt you know it was hardly anybody around and they figured it wouldn’t be a big deal but when they got back their watch was gone

you know they’re just people that fast so you have to be careful

if you’re in water somebody else should be in the sun and so forth keep an eye and don’t venture to anywhere that you really don’t know or you don’t feel that you can get out easily I know that’s kind of ironic considering where we just came from but

I always like to fill out areas the possibilities and of course with my truck I didn’t have much fears about being able to come out

so what do you think about this road trip going to the end is that something you think you would like to tackle that challenge driving all the way to the end of the North Coast Road is that something you would like to do do you have the vehicle that could do it

if you feel you could feel free to comment on my YouTube channel I know there are car rentals here that um will rent pick up trucks but I don’t I don’t recall seeing them with um all-terrain tires

they look like the tires of made for highway so there is a chance that even though it may be up four by four whatever it could still get stuck you may have to see if you could rent a suv but again you’d have to have good tires and I don’t know if you’d want to take a rental car up there I mean it will get really dirty and muddy and when you took your vehicle back you would you would be under some pressure to get washed on clean and whatnot

maybe if you have um a friend or a family member or a truck

they can do that

yeah take the time to clean

the screen there’s a lot of stuff on it sometimes I’m so busy driving I don’t realize that the camera is picking up every little thing that drops on the um windscreen

the irony of some of these places though is that because locally they don’t really map out things properly I mean they would just show a road but there’s nothing really to tell you it was the end of the road or what’s along the way or any of those things it really becomes like a unknown adventure uncharted and you’re already discovering it for the first time

I’m glad this maxi stopped there because

that would have already blocked the scene that big maxi in front of you

and why you know whereas I most people probably just showing you getting to the destination I always like to show both both going and both and coming back because when you show both what happens is you able to get two different perspectives of the place because going and coming always looks different you may notice certain things yes that you saw before but the view is different

this would probably be helpful too if you might be feeling lost or you wondered you know how long again before we get to x or y place well you know you get an idea from these videos because some people will ask me you know how long did it take to go here how long did it take again you could see from the um time in the

there’s a big bus pass and I had to go off road for it to pass you can see from the timeline how long it takes because more or less this video is unedited except for very few parts

where I switch cameras and so forth you know you can get an idea at the time

this is not like a rush rush road I mean it’s not a road that you want to be driving fast on or move in in a hurry you know take your time lots of potholes lots of places that um can build treacherous

I like this um picket fence here and these pine trees reminds me to like a camp camping area

and these are some really sturdy walls with the sweet lime growing on it the sweet lime is the green like green like ivy some sort of resort on private estate here these places also have they tend to have their own access to the beach

and I would love to cover that if you are the owner of one of the houses up here and you would like for me to come

I wouldn’t charge you just come and record it all just to display it sure the beach house is like

just let me know let me know in the comments or um send me an email by my site or if you are a homeowner and you’re interested in that and you’re like me to come on

film record some aspect of your home that’s unique also send me a message I might take you up or not

by the way I have a lot of videos carded you would probably notice that um I’m starting to have more premieres and that’s because I have a lot of content

to put out there I have some really good ones a free port coming up those of you who are fans of Freeport

some other areas and for the spin as well

and some random footage on some of other Caribbean islands

I’ve been releasing some um videos of martinique the footage is really nice you should look at it

only last ones I did was on nature

and you know I like to look at the other islands too because it’s sort of a comparison of how we are doing tourist tourist wise does it look like you know if we compare you know is this look palatable for a tourist versus the other islands why even why come to Trinidad I know Tobago has a tourist tech appeal

I mean

there are specific places tourists could go I think a lot more needs to be done

you can always tell any roads start to get a little smoother everybody takes off you can see me driving a little bit faster now

look at all those coconut trees on the right that’s how this island should be full of coconut trees or like the ones on your left chinese coconuts and so forth

the soil here is richer when I say here I mean on the island itself in general I mean it’s almost like you plant anything and it just grows

so there’s really no excuse to plant stuff

see like those burgundy we’re passing on the right croutons

lilies coconut trees as you can tell I’m a fan of green

oh by the way it just occurred to me a lot of you will come to my channel so why don’t I play the latest local music well there’s something called copyright I can’t just take music from anybody without a license and just start playing it doesn’t work that way I mean I coulda but then my videos would be sanctioned of course I don’t want to be do that so I play what I can and talk when I can

so if you looking for the latest music from Trinidad that this this channel will not be giving it to you the other channels I’m sure do that

well if you want you can play your own music and just simply mute me

and play it in the background

a lot of the music I do use is either available from YouTube or I have paid a license for it

so I’m able to use it by license

but I more or less try to use a alternative world music not everything is called so because I simply do not have enough variety to last for two hours for instance this video is almost two hours long and you know even for any dj finding enough songs because you’re not typical songs like what three four minutes or less

you know finding enough songs to fill that is is quite a job without having to replay the same song

so this piece of road is really good but this part here is a bit narrower look it should be it should have a sign they’re saying single lane because they couldn’t even put the um center line there

this strip of road is pretty good and you see a smooth strip of road in Trinidad it’s almost like you have to hold on to it and say your prayers because at some point you’ll be riddled with potholes

this strip of road also seems to be almost single lane

and on the left is the blanche issues secondary school which we explored already in part one of this road trip

so so the drive coming up here is nice and the drive going back in the afternoon evening is is just as nice

I think at some point I will need to make a

faq video a frequently asked questions video so many things people asked often or say often that lets me know they don’t know much about how jb Man Caves operates

you can tell by you know some other comments or whatever

sometimes too with these roads that when you’re on them they may have offshoot roads roads are turned left or right from the main road and could take it to some extraordinary site or some landmark or something but you know we can’t stop on every road that we see but when I i try to look at the map and find things that look like it could be interesting

but if you ever have the time you can do that sort of thing

I believe that was a kingdom whole jehovah witness church we just passed on and left

if you’re familiar with this earth feel free to point pinpoint any things that you think would be interest to us

there is a way where you can document exactly where you’re talking about in a video using a timeline hours minutes and seconds you can look on my description of this video and you will see a key follow that same pattern and you’ll be able to outline any particular place within a video

you can see that these people are

in a hurry

I’m in no hurry

I’m just cool right behind here I know the funny thing is about a lot of Trini drivers um they will go very fast and end up maybe 50 feet in front of you and end up having to drive the same speed as you

we were saying hey hurry to go nowhere

on the right is the coastline and if it wasn’t for all these big trees you would be able to see the ocean but unfortunately you can’t

there are places that you can stop and probably look out but as you can see this road is not one to be playing with people are coming through fast they are caught blind corners so I wouldn’t want to park here to look out

whenever you answer the comments feel free to let me know where you’re from unless you’ve seen Trinidad or your plans for the future some of you do tell me but some don’t some just will say it’s a nice video whatever and although I’m grateful for saying that feel free to let me know more

one thing I want to do jv’s monkey is to build that spirit of community you know just hang out be friends talk talk in the aspect of leaving your comments I will reply I do look at all the comments people that I think show us a sustained or consistent manner of commenting I i just put them on automatic approve so they can comment whenever for new people I have it always moderated

and sometimes I get comments that are not family friendly not necessarily against me but just saying things that are not you know criticizing people they see in a video or something like that and I’m not I’m not really about that and I don’t want to make JB’s Man Cave if political or a place to just bash people or whatever that’s that’s not my intention I i know if you see something that’s a social issue like you know keep any place clean leaving garbage all over sure I will let those comments go because we need to um we do need to talk about that people do need to know that they’re doing the wrong thing by the turn but you know seeing somebody on a video and criticizing how they look or or where they are whatever I do not approve those it’s always family friendly

you can see maracas up ahead

but we’re a good distance from better

talking way ahead it’s not where we are now is in um passing by last quavers

as I mentioned in part one I couldn’t stop here because there was just too many people I don’t record when there are too many people not that I don’t record because of the people themselves but you know people are in their building shoot what not and um I don’t want to be taking people when they are more or less exposed

so I will come back here another day when it’s not so bad you know earlier when we can actually go into the car park it’s so it’s so packed in there that you know most of the people parked on the outside as you notice

and given by the number of maxis I’m seeing they you know there’s a whole bunch of people there worst time to record and in my personal view was time to actually be on the beach I like to be on a beach one it’s free and open you know just a few people here and there but not like people almost rubbing against you

most people come to the Las Cuevas beach because it’s calmer compared to

the other beaches like Tyrico or Maracas where there are a lot of waves I square this is calm you may get a wave or two but it’s rare

the uh water is good for swimming and stuff do anything I don’t like about Las Cuevas is it’s a bit small

so if there are a lot of people there you really will feel congested

and if you haven’t been there for many years I will tell you it looks very different now because the maracas of the last quavers of the old days for instance when I was a child was a beach that was covered with rocks tiny pebbles was rocky and one of the things that used to really annoy me was about it was the sunflowers lots of sunflies so I never understood the um interest in going there but now it’s it’s uh sandy beach they moved all the walks and there’s no more sun flies it looks really good they made a park they made proper steps and stuff to get down

so we’ll have to explore that on already as you can also see the clouds are forming and again no raindrops here and there in Trinidad it tends to rain always in the afternoon I mean you could get a rain shower anytime but usually it will be sunny morning and by afternoon it will start to rain

I was glad most of the day was sunny we are on our way back now so we’re not stopping by any beaches so if it rains a bit it’s okay but till the end of this road trip it really does not start the poor

this is the area on the right where I was seeing that every time you come in this area it’s like more and more of the trees are removed and it used to be a lot of patches of ground but now a lot of has taken it over but it seems to be maintained in some form

I’m interested to know what it’s going to

be oh

now if you’re hearing a dog walk in any background that’s neighbors dogs they have annoying dogs that aren’t trained so they just bark at anything and I didn’t bother to close my window so you get the full brunt of it

funny as I’m saying that I have a video on noise pollution

if you haven’t seen it check it out about the noise makers in Trinidad and Tobago a big problem with people who like to make noise or are themselves just simply loud

as I’ve said in my other videos I’m more of an introvert conservative quiet I’m a per person

which you wouldn’t gather from watching these videos but um I am a dad driven by his children

I don’t know if you’re gonna tell but we are ascending again

we have to ascend before we descend down to um the maracas b area

but we will be passing on tarik office at some point

there are also other parts to go down and

view other bees but as I said in part one I am not sure if there are any restrictions you know a lot of private areas now trying that is not open as it used to be

a lot of gates a lot of signs no trespass don’t come here or pee or whatever growing up it you know Trinidad used to be a lot more open

could basically ask access anything there’s not that way anymore

and because it’s not that way anymore what happens is whenever there is something

do you get all this congregation of people

and it’s kind of sad because Trinidad should really have a lot of stuff going on that not necessarily have to pay for parks beaches shouldn’t be just one or two and they should be easily accessible if you if you want to encourage people to do the writing and not be in crime that’s one of the best ways to do it

providing places where people can be entertained

and happy

um

and that could be good employment for people to create in look at how it looks like if it’s snowing see that

um

that’s good employment for people I mean if you create more bees then that’s more places for people to work they can um you know you have lifeguards you will have to have people that clean up the beach maintain the beach then people will be able to sell their food the chairs the umbrellas whatever you know you’re providing opportunities the more you create and see more that tourists don’t want to come too because if everywhere they go they see a beach will be like very enticing but so now we just have one or two readily accessible beaches and and they’re so far away too

someone was commenting in my uh channel that they don’t care for maracas because because there’s just it’s just too far away for them I mean this is a to me is a long road trip I know we went to the whole of the North Coast Road but just for instance from me coming from let’s say police being and going to maracas that’s a that’s a serious road trip not to be taken um likely it’s something you really have to plan for and put effort into prepare for

vision it shouldn’t be like that I mean growing up as a kid we used to over access Chagaramas and all the beaches are on that coastline and marker ape and whatnot easily now everything is blocked off I have I have a video specifically on that also

you can see this the clouds are taken over this guy that’s diary because we just passed down the right

and it’s cutting out all the color from the video

hardly any blue

and we are back again at maracas you can see there on the right if you haven’t seen it I have a whole walkthrough of maracas beach I walk all along here I walk through the fishing village so you can see maracas in a way that you haven’t seen before

funny things so many signs saying no parking people still parked there the parking lots a full parking lot on the left and there are other ones higher up

like the risk in order to avoid pain parking

so as we ascend here we are leaving maracas by continuing on the North Coast Road and heading

back west

towards [..]
by the way as as my channel grows I will be diversifying I mean I already cover besides Trinidad and Tobago I already I also cover the islands and stuff but I also want to go into more of the social issues and I hope that the community goes that you will join me and talk

um about these issues sometimes world issues I always find that trainees are great to talk about you know

sometimes for the last things but I like to talk about serious topics as well

I know a lot of you come have not been insured for a long time and you want to see what it’s like or you’re planning our trip to the crib and I want to see what it’s like but I hope you’ll also stick around for other conversations we you know as friends

don’t just come and look at my videos on leave come on stick around let’s have a chat talk about other stuff too I don’t know if you’ve seen these dogs but it’s it’s weird these somebody talks like they don’t want to leave the wood one is only right just in the middle of the road and the other one they only left

seem to be not bothered about cars passing right next to his feet

all right I’m picking up a little speed here because we’re ascending a lot and driving a manual on a mountain after a long day of walking up and down is not exactly fun so I try to gain speed in order to um as I start to slow down going up the mountain

now in part well since a part one by any maracas video and we started this north coast wood trip I had shown you a lookout that enables you to see maracas beach on the whole bay area um and it’s really good if you have a nice d I can’t tell you one last I went up there and it was a really nice day to take pictures usually something’s wrong it’s raining it closes uh it’s a lot of clouds there’s a lot of Saharan dust you know this all this sun is in your camera there’s always some issue but we are nevertheless going to take a look at it just now you will see it

and if you’re coming from the other direction it’s it’s it’s easy to access that local but when you’re coming from this direction it’s a bit difficult because it’s right on up um a blind corner and by blind cone I mean you cannot see cars coming from the other side of the road so you have to be very careful if you’re going there from this direction

I would have stopped there first in the Maracas bay video but like I said the sun was shining into the camera and you wouldn’t have been able to see much

this is another small [..] as well but it’s not the one I’m talking about

and this is it coming up here and you will look you if you can see the road on the left bears left but it’s really hard to tell if any cars are coming there so like I said be very cautious when you turn in those tents are set up to sell via snacks foods and whatnot

I believe that path going down would take it on another beach I believe so but it’s private

if you know how I can access that well you happen to be the owner no do you wanna feel free to contact me i’d love to record it so today you can see the maracas b it’s on the other side of that ridge nevertheless is a nice shot from here

but as you can see lots of clouds Saharan dust still aside to behold but not a good shot so I didn’t even bother to stay around much because it was also raining a bit and this particular camera I have is not waterproof I didn’t have the waterproof housing on it

so that was that I mean we could have spent a lot more time here showing you other things but

I don’t have the chance

poodle looks like it’s having fun in our truck though

I know it looks like it’s really gonna rain bad but we don’t get much of it thankfully

now I know it looks like if I’m going back downhill but don’t let that fool you at some point I’ll go back up again that’s just how this road is you go up and down the mountains

most of it already seems up to me down down

and as you can see the roads are failing now no line markings so and people tend to bear around those corners pretty fast so it’s not a place like as I’ve said before not for somebody that’s a novice driver or just got a license or maybe you have been driving a while but you’re just not sure you know I wouldn’t come on here or venture here and don’t even think about letting it become dark drive in here that’s just on normal

as you can see there’s no street lighting

I can’t even imagine what it would be like to be stuck up here

for those of you who are enter four by fours I don’t use my 4×4 to get up here just gear 2 and 3 mostly sometimes 4.

I mean I have done it using uh engage in my 4×4 but

I don’t know sometimes it doesn’t seem necessary the engine could handle this without engaging up

now there’s a funny little um statue here I don’t know who created it but somebody created it it looks like an old man and they put a a covered mask on it

it’s kind of funny my wife wanted to get a picture of it

so I hope you enjoyed today’s road trip if you did please let me know in the comments please like please get your friends to subscribe I seem to be still far away from 10 000 subscribers I’m I’m grateful for those of you who are subscribing it’s growing a lot every day but still far from ten thousand help me get to ten thousand subscribers by inviting your friends your family to subscribe

it’s free you just have to click the subscribe button they just need a Gmail account most people have a Gmail account especially to access android stuff

so

please do

so on this rest of this road trip will take us to saddle road and you will know when we start the road because it it bears into like a y one passing through Santa Cruz on one to then right on to San Juan I’ll be more or less the end of the video

now you know what it’s like driving on the North Coast Road from one end to the other it’s quite a road trip quite an adventure as you see one not to be done by somebody that is inexperienced in driving and not to be done if you don’t have a vehicle adequate to the extent of the roads and the lack of roads where there’s mud that’s if you plan to go all the way and as you can see there’s lots to do you could go to the beach you can do a lot of hiking there are a lot of hiking trails there but that I wouldn’t recommend unless you’re going on somebody who knows the trail and you’re going in a large group

there’s also um a lot of other stuff to do the kayaking canoeing whatever it is the small ATVs going through the mud that’s an option but of course most people just come up here for the beach, Maracas beach in particular or Tyrico or Las Cuevas

that’s what most people tend to make this long journey for

and so many roads here will actually take on a right when you do see a road it will take you to paramount all people don’t know that you can get straight to pyramid which is a village on a mountain top

that’s another video stay tuned

that one has some serious inclines

and again that’s a place that you really can’t go unless you know how to drive on and you definitely have to engage your 4×4 at some point going up there really steep a whole adventure in itself huh

that’s the only thing about Trinidad lots of places to explore but you really have to know about them beforehand because you know you could get lost really easily and maybe end up in a place that you shouldn’t be it’s good to have some sort of tour guide friend family member whatever have you shown you’re wrong but with these videos on [..] give you you get an idea you get an idea of where you are going what you’re going to see and what the road you need to take so if you’re actually making a drive you could even plug into JB’s Man Cave pull up the video and drive along so if anything looks unfamiliar you have it right here

convenience

of course if you like what I do and you want to support it monetarily I am not bashful for donations you’re much appreciated and goes towards helping my children they are on the spectrum

I am a at home dad

and uh most of my I should say all of my income comes from whatever I do in front of my computer homestead homeschooling and different things so my ability to get out is hard so even in these road trips I actually it takes a lot of planning and preparation but it’s a good outing for them too because you know sometimes we feel like we’re in a perpetual pandemic you know those of you who

like you know complain a lot because of the pandemic or you have to stay home or you have to do schoolwork at home well in a lot of ways that’s what it’s like for a lot of people who are parents of special needs children they are home most of the time

there aren’t specific schools for children with special needs that are suitable and we you know I used we used to be part of our or part of an organization as an NGO but we also used to be activists in this area so I’m very versed in it there isn’t much here for children with special needs there are private places and whatnot but you know these things should be free

anyway that’s another topic right I don’t want to spoil your road trip here

this is sort of like the winding down area of the North Coast Road

I believe this is the last ascent

can’t remember I believe it’s the last ascent more or less it’s downhill descent from now right here two ways that occurs you can also park there and get a good picture of Maraval

and the golf estate

but the end of the day is crappy so no point doing that today that’s another day

I’m just glad that most of the tape was nice and sunny so you were able to capture the good parts that I saw

oh

and as usual you know going back the other way always looks different so even if you saw

the road trip coming in

it would look totally different to you going back out

so friends as we make our way out don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t subscribed already if you haven’t invited your friends or family please do so I want to reach the 10 000 subscribers we’re on our way there but

this is where I have a ladies do you want to get there fast

then um if you like if you like this but you do like it click on a thumbs up

and if you even you’re subscribed make sure to hit the notification bell so you get that immediate notification

so this is the end of the note crossroad when we pass these pillars here these columns left will take it to Santa Cruz and right to Saddle Rd. and Maraval. Thanks for watching!

Freeport Trinidad Caribbean back roads

Hello friends we are on another road trip today and in this road trip we will be going to Freeport in Trinidad Trinidad is an island in the Caribbean it’s actually the last island in the southern Caribbean after Trinidad to the south of the Guyanas and to our west is Venezuela.

FREEPORT Back Roads Road Trip in TRINIDAD and Tobago Caribbean by JBManCave.com

if you’re not from Trinidad you mean not know about it as much as you would have heard about Jamaica or Barbados or some of the other more touristic islands

Trinidad and Tobago its main GDP is oil and gas so tourism is not a main factor anyway so this is Freeport we are on the arena road

it’s a residential area mainly there’s there is some commercial parts mostly I’ve I believe on mission road which I have done another video for if you haven’t seen it make sure to look for it

it’s just me driving down mission road today we we won’t really be going on mission road I believe on the way back I passed through mission road a bit but mainly we are going on back roads today all the roads that you may not normally take when you’re coming to Freeport

now if you used to live in Freeport have friends here or visited here often and you haven’t been here for a while or you moved abroad then this video will be of interest to you because you would like to see what it’s like now however I will be stopping at various places too that I did not see before no I i sometimes I will look on google maps and say you know where can we go today and you will see certain highlighted ma landmarks but you know there isn’t much information about it so uh you know it’s only when you get there you find out about it

and so we and part of this road trip and visiting places that are off-road or roads that are not frequented or roads that are not the main road itself we discover a few places stop and have a look around

I believe the Freeport area has around a population of around twelve thousand somewhere about more or less

and um you’ll see me stop here a bit because I wasn’t sure what I wanted to continue to cross that bridge or tune on that road

and there was suddenly a lot of traffic behind me so I’m gonna wait for that to clear and then I’m gonna turn around and go back to that road because I really don’t want to follow the arena road that will take me east and away from Freeport

the green marking on that map is showing you the roots that we are taking to the end report

it’s a cloudy day but the deer maintains um

some sunlight there isn’t any rain and it clears up a bit thankfully

we are still in the dry season in Trinidad and Tobago there are two main seasons it’s not like North America or Europe where you have you know winter spring summer and fall here we only have the dry and wet season or some people say to dry and rainy season

right now we’re in a dry season which means there isn’t as much rain

now you know when you look looking at many um tourist based videos they tried to highlight all the goody goody stuff the the eye candy stuff but on JB’s Man Cave I try to give you the raw real look the things as they are so this look that you’re seeing now is true Caribbean it’s not the fancy areas or the fancy buildings or whatever this is how the Caribbean or how Trinidad looks lots of green patchy roads

houses built in various designs and structures and maybe could use an upgrade

but this is how it looks actually looks and these are some of the back roads that we’re taking so if you’re looking for an adventure you can always follow

the roads that I take and see some of the places that we’re going to see today we’re going to be stopping at a temple a Hindu temple a restaurant the Namaste Restaurant a forested area that we tried to get some information about but could not find anybody

and some other unusual things um I always advise in my videos that if you come in these backwards that you should have a good vehicle that can take some hard knocks you’ll notice that the camera shakes and that camera is super mounted to my windscreen

I mean I actually use um liquid metal to stick it not even just plain glue but if vibrations because of so many potholes on uneven roads still makes it shake so does it tell you no cars do pass here but they move very slow

extremely slowly you’ll even see that in this video look at how slow that car is going look how much ground I’m making up so if you’re coming in these backwards I strongly suggest that you use a 4×4 a truck a van an suv with good tires uh you know they’ll come here with a low rider or something like that because you’re gonna have problems

of course that’s not always possible that you can change your vehicle but I’m just warning you

now there was a lot of research done by archaeologists on the arena rodent report and probably other places here showing a strong presence of Amerindian society and you know [..] and the faculty there have been pushing government to name certain sites within the area

so that they could be um under the historical sites uh conservation effort but um I I’m not too sure I’m not too sure what the progress of that is if if you are aware of it feel free to comment in the comments area of my YouTube channel a lot of that needs to be done also in other areas of Trinidad and Tobago

now the nice thing about driving on back roads is of course all the green and as you know if you have watched some of my videos you always hear me talk about the green I just love nature but it’s the fresh air and the look of the vegetation and whatnot

and you can see how bad the roads are I would like to go faster but that car ahead is slowing me down as I said before if you have a you know a regular car like that one um ahead then you’re gonna find yourself moving very slow here because the roads are very bad

sometimes in shots like this too I try to hold back and allow the vehicle to go ahead faster to get out of the way otherwise the vehicle ahead becomes the focus but I’m going really slow and that car is still going slow

and of course folks if you like my videos feel free to become a patron feel free to donate you can go to JBManCave.com

or JBorde.com there are links in the description of this video and then the about section of my channel to go straight to the donation section where you can donate of course as I always say there’s no pressure this is you know an optional thing if you would like to support my effort in fact um I believe this would be the last video I do in this format I’m I’m upgrading my formats don’t get worried I’m not it’s not the last video I actually do it’s the last video in this format meaning um 1080p HD I’m gonna go up a notch in certain areas and I also have some videos in 5.3 k and 360 degrees coming up that’s right and by the way JB’s Man Cave is not only about road trips or just looking it’s about a lot of other stuff I do feature other Caribbean islands and I talk about social issues and so forth and I have some social issues that I do want to bring up I just haven’t got any chance to do it as yet but I want to hear from you on those issues as well and then those videos you know tell me what you think about my videos about Martinique or Jamaica Barbados or saint Russia, Grenada, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines you know let me know how you like those areas I know Trinis flock to my Trini related videos and yes I have quite a number of them but I don’t only focus on Trinidad to big I even make videos on Ukraine and the war there

and you see how slow we’re going I’m giving trying to give that vehicle ahead you know a chance to go drive away I’m sure I’ll go over this hill and I might still see him

so I like to look at the green and in some of my videos I have actually a series called let’s watch and I think some people just don’t understand it you know sometimes you go to an area and it’s not a hyper thing you know you’re not running around in circles you go to an area you sit down and relax and watch that’s the beauty of nature and sometimes when I slow down like this or I stop no no look at the garbage on the left isn’t it sad that I’m talking about loving nature and green and then there’s a huge garbage dump I just wish Trinis will stop doing that sometimes I go into areas and there’s literally garbage all over there are some shots I would actually like to make and I can’t because there’s so much garbage that’s a serious problem here in Trinidad and look at how isolated this area is and I I’m still a concern

and you know as I was saying I have a let’s watch series where I just simply watch a certain place and I bring you along and when you you know it’s like a a piece of artwork you know when somebody makes a painting you could spend a good number of minutes watching it picking up details well it’s the same with this just because it’s in video format doesn’t mean you constantly have to be moving that’s where it’s a you know perspective appreciation sort of thing

now on the top of this hill there’s a lot of nice scenery well at least for me country scenery which many in Trinidad may not see you know it’s very hard to come to the area and just look and just see green without seeing a lot of concrete so we’re gonna pull to the side here in a bit and I’m gonna pull out my extension pull and give you a 360 degree look

soon I will have videos where you could actually scroll your screen and look

so you got a a good vantage point so you this is central Trinidad more or less you could see the mountains the north

and in central so it tends to be very hilly there’s very little flat land everything is hills and the land here well I’m not too sure about this area in particular but I know the you know the southern range tends to have a lot of areas with shifting land

so that’s what the area looked like

that country atmosphere the smell of fresh air the green

some people have commented that my videos are a good way to see where they’re going and yes you can use them just like that you know if you’re thinking about a road trip or to go somewhere just to look around take all the family feel free to watch my videos and pick up some ideas you may even want to take a road that I didn’t

no sad to say you know let me mention those that smoke that’s coming only left that’s a bushfire sometimes they are started by I would like to say dry stock on the sun but to me there’s either light you know as in metal objects shining his son on something and been in it or people throwing their cigarettes or maybe somebody actually um starting it but anyway those are bush fires they tend to break out in patches so you might have a bushfire ahead and another one further up the road and so forth but if they are not taken care of then it could lead to a much bigger fire and damage to people’s homes so they have to be monitored anyway I was saying that besides nature you know going out on a hike going on a camp event at the beach and there aren’t you know we are in a Caribbean island but there aren’t many accessible and I say readily accessible beaches in Trinidad you have to drive very far to get it and sometimes it’s packed when you get there but anyway there aren’t many activities besides you know going to the movies or going to the mall or some of the usual things where you see so often that you want to see something new so driving on road trips is one way to get out and see the rest of the country that you may not have seen and pick up on the culture the look the feeling of other places it’s good education and good for your mind too you know if somebody said you know I’m from Freeport you really can’t relate if you haven’t been there but now you can

some nice houses here and there

but nothing with the road of course still the same now you see to the left there that black dome shaped object that is where the temple is and the area surrounding it is a big restaurant and

how do I put it it’s a facility for meetings I guess but when I say meetings I’m not talking about like a conference more for like weddings and stuff but it’s incomplete however we are going to visit it now I didn’t I i picked up on the place on a map but I did not know about the place before so when I got there I decided to walk around

so I’m just deliberating which way to go and then of course I will turn left and check it out now

one of the issues and I’ve talked about this before sometimes when you’re recording video recording

it’s a big truck passing by all right so sometimes when your video recording

people become antsy they become nervous I don’t know sometimes they don’t want to record they want you to record them or record their plays or whatever but in the case of this place they were very welcoming and that’s what I like and because they were so welcoming I will be highlighting all of their place the temple everything and that’s how it should be you know something I don’t understand with some trainees is you’re coming to highlight their place that’s free advertisement for them you know I am not being paid to do this and yet still they would be you know like oh I don’t know whatever whatever and I just don’t get it and that’s mostly from the people in the north people in the south are way more friendly and accommodating and willing and understand the benefits of you know having the this the places or the um businesses or whatever promoted you know you know somebody stick any time and say you know I would like to record this but it’s on my YouTube channel and they’re glad for it now that party right there that where that gate was open that’s how you would access the um restaurant directly

but you can access it from the other way that I’m going to but mainly this section here is people who are going to the um religious side of this area and this temple

so I’m gonna park up here and then I’m gonna pull up my extension rod as usual and have a look around

and I’m gonna give you um audio here

now why whereas I am familiar with

the rudimentary aspects of the of Hinduism and so forth I am not okra with all the terminology and whatnot so feel free to go to my YouTube channel and explain everything that we are seeing what I can tell you is this is a sacred site a religious side so that if you’re coming here the idea is not to be loud and noisy in fact when we came here we were very impressed with how quiet and peaceful it is and you will notice in the fact that I can record and you don’t hear nothing

there aren’t many people around there were some but it’s a nice place to come and meditate

take any fresh air if you’re part of the religion pray whatever have you whatever to develop grow that strong sense of yourself

so if you have never been here it might be an option for you to come

and I’m going to label the um

the name and location here so that you can check it out

one of the impressive impressive things too is how clean and maintained well-maintained areas

now this part here that we’re going to is the restaurant and the

grounds where I said that you know if you’re planning an activity a place for a meeting or wedding or whatever they have the the necessary area for it

um it’s still under some sort of renovation or construction it’s not complete but it’s good enough that if you needed to do something you could start

what I like about it has its own little playground as you see

and various covered areas where you can

dine or have a meeting whatever have you however you want to plan it they have several structures so I don’t know if you could have you know rent the whole facility or in some other case you know different people can have different um air covered areas that they could use

by the way in my future videos too I’m going to be working on this stabilization issue where you get that shake

again these videos are raw so normally you know me having me work here I would you know in a proper video you would cut it out edit it merge and so forth but jb’s mind cave is a body raw so you can see all that icy and I may be just holding the um extension rod anyhow as I’m walking and you see how it’s stabilized now because I’m probably you know fixing it to take a shot now they had some peacocks in a cage here while the cage is very big this is probably the only area I did not like and if you know JB’s Man Cave you would know the reason why I did not like it that’s the noise that they make I’ve never heard them make that song before but it’s almost like they were calling me when I was there

and usually they spread their wings make all that colorful thing I think they do it when they feel intimidated I don’t know I’m not an expert on birds but um you can tell me if you know the reason why I did not like it feel free to say why if you know jb in the YouTube comments of this video

if you would like to know why you can also ask now this um mini what do I call it like a mini Taj Mahal but it’s great I could picture this full of flowers and for wedding photos can you I really liked how it looked

you know the even though the place is unfinished if it’s dressed up with flowers plants whatever have you it can definitely be something to be whole I mean you could really have our uh

a great wedding or event here whatever celebration

normal songs like I’m the owner and I’m trying to sell it but I am not I’m neither was this video sponsored for that but I just I’m seeing that because

the people here were really friendly and welcoming and I just want to do that for them

by the way we did take some of the food we ordered takeaway lunch you can dining and I will show you what the dining area is like in case you’re wondering you know if I want to bring my family here to dine in the takeaway lunches were very good actually you could get some three different items and um some naan which is like bread

kind of like a pita bread for those of you who don’t know what mine is and um that’s the restaurant there Namaste Indian Restaurant and this is the inside and that only costs like 45 dollars you could go on for 50 dollars the only thing I would the food was really nice but the only thing I would say is that you make sure to tell them to hold the pepper some chefs like to go heavy on the pepper so if you’re not a pepper person just when you’re ordering just tell them you don’t want any pepper you can see nice tables it’s not a ‘cheapy cheapy’ place everything is well thought out like I said a good place to have an event or wedding or whatever you can always find them online or whatever and contact them about it

so we are leaving that area and we are continuing our road trip

and for those of you who don’t know always ask I when I’m in the vehicle I do not play sound because usually on these road trips I’m traveling with my family and you don’t need to hear what we’re seeing talking about various things and it’s mostly unrelated to the video anyhow I stopped here to get a few points from some people about the area so I’m just speeding it up a bit

you can see those dark grey clouds in the distance that’s that is south so that’s not going to affect us

where we are is sunny

but the weather in uh the Caribbean and in general [..] it changes all the time one minute could be sunny next month could be really rainy and want more

but you know like I said how many places do you drive to and use you have this look not many so again it’s a place that you can bring your family to have a look around you know just to get a different feel for other areas in Trinidad doesn’t always have to be just your area and back home you know you can visit other places besides just maracas or just you know commercial places you know just to see what the rest of Trinidad is like you can see what I’m talking about with the shift in line you see how those um pulls those electricity pools see how it’s bending twisting almost like it’s once a fall though that’s what happens when you have shifting land

and that happens in these areas a lot so you have a nice little community here some big houses well kept

the roads a bit better too

but uh we are not really about this road we want to we want to turn off we are all about the back roads so we’re looking for back roads to explore and this one is certainly one that can be explored however in this road as well you need to have a good vehicle that you can drive on it there are other ways to get around to where we are going but I like this the scenic route the route that’s least traversed.

so we’re gonna take this one

and sometimes you get to see two different houses how people live and so forth

now I was trying to locate a name for this road but I didn’t see one did you see one when we turned in it did now you know if not you can always follow the route but this one takes you to what looks like an end of a road but we’re still going to go it is it’s actually labeled as a road on the map but there’s no pitch here so it’s kind of interesting going on it

you can see where the bush fires rubbish this area on the right especially

just look really nice I love this see all this green

this would be good for um those of you who like mountain biking or just jogging this is all good stuff for you to you know bring a bike and ride excuse me

I don’t normally talk this much so talking for an hour I need to get my water break my throat gets dry

by the way that’s another video I have to make by the way Chinese talk you know they won’t say throat they would say trot

look at that again well you know I don’t want to have money left there if it became a dumping area or if something collapsed but wasn’t a good site

but I just love driving through things like this I can’t imagine what it would be like if it was raining and muddy maybe it might be like my north coast strip if you haven’t seen that make sure to look at it parts one and two especially um two I show a lot of the mud roads that you go through

and uh I stopped here because we picked up on something on the right seems to be a small shrine dedicated to this person

if you know about it feel free to comment in the comments area of my YouTube channel I thought I would pick it up as it was located in such a remote place and I was wondering why there is it that he died there was it that he lived there or something

now there is a recreation park here

and I was trying to find out more about it but like I said you are you don’t get much information online and sometimes you go to places and you don’t see so we were just driving around trying to find out more about

it it’s called a sandy hill

park

nature park

and it looks also similar to how we came from the um the other area

where the uh they had the man there

it is not finished but I guess it can also be used to have you know weddings or whatever again nobody was wrong we did meet up please and that cut in grass and he told us to go around

because the interests there on the other side was not for the public access but when we came here to we didn’t see anything going on so we just kept driving but it looks like they’re building it up and it’s going to be really fancy

more than just a nature park now I don’t know if this is particularly part of the nature park or if this is another place if you know feel free to comment in my YouTube channel I am not claiming to be the expert of any of these areas or of anything in particular I’m always glad when those more uh knowledgeable than me can come and tell me more about the areas that I’m going to and share that’s how we grow in knowledge some large houses here as well as some really beautiful green I don’t know where all these roads lead to but um this one particular road caught my eye and we decided to take a look

we didn’t see any signage or anything

so we were wondering but um I like all the places with the trees

pine trees and there were some horses to the left and we would take any time to have a look around and when I say look around look around from the truck we were looking for people that we could ask questions about the area but we didn’t see any but it was it seemed to be open so I i don’t know but you know this is the interesting thing about when you come to these remote areas you you discover things that are available in Trinidad but which don’t seem to be highlighted well enough but then again if it’s a private area then

it’ll end up being paid for and then you can’t really access it as a public area and you can’t go somewhere that seems nice without paying something and that’s one of the sad things about international everything that seems to be beautiful is often gated up protected with a wall or a door or whatever and you can’t access it so we were hoping to get some information but we didn’t see anybody so we turned around but I believe this is sunny hill nature park another place I guess which is an option for people who want to have events whatever have you

I don’t know if you can pick it up but you can see the horses on your right

uh in my younger days I used to take um a lot of scouts young scouts teenagers on hiking and camping trips we would crawl in in north coast

and in northern mountains in Trinidad and camp and on some of the tops of those mountains you would see a lot of pine trees just like how it looked there I don’t know if you guys know what I’m talking about one particular area is above St. Ann’s above Cascade there’s a strip of um a mountain ridge there that is just full of pine trees and looks just like that I believe it used to be owned by uh y dilemma I don’t know if it is now and I believe it the access to it was or has become more restricted I haven’t been up there for years but if you know what I’m talking about feel free to comment in the comments area of my YouTube channel

one thing I like about the areas that we are traveling through now is the it’s very peaceful I mean you don’t have any noise no limers no loud music you know it’s just peaceful as you would hope that any countryside area would be just full of nature and peaceful

that’s one of the reasons I don’t like living near city areas it’s just too much noise too much rumbling of vehicle engines people arms music you know you just want peace of mind maybe I’m getting too old I don’t know but I just like peace I just have a strong dislike for noise and I can tell you trees can be very noisy and I even have a video on that if you haven’t seen it make sure to look for it because it can get really bad

I love when people um take take the time to plant some flowering plants and they are beautify it really looks nice

so I’m not too sure where I am at the moment so I usually I like to stop and ask for directions if I feel I don’t want to be end up going in circles so I’m just taking some tips from the sky this road will take us back to mission road

because uh really I want to make a circle but I want to end up going back north and not towards the south

I don’t know how many of you picked up on it but I’m seeing lots of traveler palms

that’s that’s the fun like plant that fans out

sometimes when you’re driving up this road you wonder what’s on the other end

so you can see where we are coming back to

more roads and more concrete jungle as you could see I believe this is on the Freeport Todds Road which will later take us to the mission road so if you used to live in this area excuse me if you used to live in this area and you um

maybe have friends or family and you have not seen it for a while feel free to tell us you know does it look the same have you seen improvements

or whatever have you I’ve been in my YouTube channel

just stop to take a quick look at this

this building means something to you it would be of interest to you

now one thing interesting here is part of the layout of the Caribbean is you will see a building well maintained like that one and then right next to the derelict building and then next it another building that’s maintained and so forth the you know the maintenance of structures can use a uh upgrade sometimes

buildings should not be allowed to get to that state

so this is mission road

we’re gonna turn right

and this will take us north and from here you can get back onto the highway

uh even if you want to go south or north

like I said I have a another video that I did about driving the whole stretch of this mission road so you can always have a look at that just check my YouTube channel and in the search box you can just put mission rule make sure to use this search for my channel and not the general search for YouTube

as always I do appreciate you coming here to have a look make sure to check my other videos as well not everything is about driving I would I would love if we can get to know each other I have videos on various other issues community issues that’s how we build up the community that we have here online to discuss all things and get to know each other not just you know drive into Trinidad

I also appreciate when you invite your friends your family to subscribe my channel is really growing exponentially and that’s because of you however I have not reached my goal of 10 000 subscribers yet and I’m really looking forward to it so with your help I’m sure I’ll get there ask all your friends your family members to subscribe to JB’s Man Cave and you know when you tell them subscribe make sure they understand it’s something free it’s not something that you’re asking them to pay for or whatever subscribe is just a matter of clicking the subscribe button it’s all free you just need to have a Gmail account and getting a Gmail account is also free

so I hope you enjoyed our road trip today and look out for some exciting stuff coming up like I said I’ll be improving my video resolutions going to 5.3k 4k I already do some 4k videos for you with the other carbon islands but for Trinidad I’ve been kind of lazy with the 1080p HD but I will be um boosting that to a higher resolution for those of you who watch on mobiles it really wouldn’t matter but I know I i do have some of you who like to sit home and watch on your big screen so that will give you a higher resolution and will also know allow me to focus greater on other stuff while keeping it sharp

also they come in some 360 videos which will enable you you know some of you say oh I wish you showed me this building or that building well with the 360 videos you will be able to actually choose where you want to see while I am there that’s right you’ll actually be able to scroll on your screen and look so you won’t be able to argue with me that I should be looking at a certain building folks glad to have you here glad to have you watching feel free to like and comment I really appreciate it we’re going to end this video where I just stopped by the fruit stand for the week get my veggies and fruits.

Maracas Beach Walk Trinidad Caribbean

So we are on our way to Maracas that’s a beach and a small community in the northern part of Trinidad an island in the Caribbean we’re leaving on cocoa road and getting on saddle road and this will start our journey towards Maracas which is a mountainous area the area we are in now is called Maraval.

MARACAS BEACH Trinidad and Tobago Caribbean Walk Through by JBManCave.com

and the only two possible or three possible ways to get to Maracas one way is the way I’m using now saddle road there’s another way through Santa Cruz and another way through Arima to Blanchisseuse

I don’t know how many people take the other routes possibly those coming from the east will go through San Juan then Santa Cruz and up to the north coast road those from the west and environs near Maraval most likely come via this route

now we start our scent here and from here on it will be just up hill and onto mountains

and then down and up down and up down and up now this road and the roads going up to the north coast into Maracas were actually built by the us military during world war ii so the early 1940s the us had a base here military base and they built this road to get to Maracas

I have read some things where it was partially an agreement between the

British government and the us at the time to build a road and I have read where they built it in order to get access to other coastline areas

the real reason I don’t know if you know this specific reason and a source for it please comment on my YouTube channel within this video

now one thing that was very apparent going up this road that I haven’t seen before is a lot of construction this road imagine has held up all this time

the most the the thing that plagues it the most are landslides

but other than that the road has held up very well since it was built in the 1940s and imagine we put down roads here and within weeks it’s all broken up

now this is the junction where that truck is turning right we’ll go to Santa Cruz and I’m turning left and this will take you to the north coast road and then on to Maracas

now this drive in itself is really nice I mean besides all the green it has a lot of small stop areas that you can look out and see the coast small islands um jutted around the coast line

so the actual beaches are not many then again there hasn’t been a lot done either by past or present governments to create bees and beaches as I’ve said in other videos a lot of them have actually been blocked off or privatized so Maracas debatably is really the best beach we have in Trinidad I mean I’ve been to the others they are smaller

the water tends to be brown and not because it’s naturally broken it’s a lot of areas have been built up with industries and contamination and whatnot and like for instance I could think of the Vessigny beach that was a really nice beach but now it’s it’s just not that good anymore so much pollutants construction just does not have that food as it used to have if you think I’m wrong feel free to comment in my YouTube channel now I should say that in my YouTube channel I moderate everything and this is a family friendly channel a lot of um

a lot of underage um

children come and watch my videos as far as I understand so you know I want to keep it clean and some of the comments are not suitable I don’t get a lot of them but they are one or two trolls

so if you’re gonna leave a comment make sure you leave it constructively I’m not here to argue or debate with you just give your comments give your source and if it’s clean I’ll approve it if not you just won’t see it

now you’re probably wondering well if this is about the beach why am I throwing all this road well this is a road trip so you have to get there via the road unless you’re making an awesome hike which which we aren’t

and like I said the road trip to Maracas is in itself part of the joy

you can’t see right or left fully but there’s a lot to take in the valley the coastline and so forth

the fresh air

now it’s not advisable to come up here when it’s raining or I should say raining heavily because when it does a tree might fall landslides happen and there aren’t many options to get out of Maracas from here it would only be just this way that we’re coming and the other way through Blanchisseuse

so once you’re stuck you’re really stuck and it would take a long time for crews to get up here to excavate and do whatever repairs they need to do in order to get traffic moving so you really want to time it for good weather weather forecasting in Trinidad and Tobago is like rolling dice sometimes they will say it’s rain and then it’ll be sunny sometimes it’ll be sunny and then it’ll be rain and also changes according to what part of the island you are in so in this case if you’re looking up a weather report make sure you’re looking for the north coast road in Maracas to see what the day will be like because I mean can start sunny like it is now and as the day progresses it could end in a thunderstorm see that road on the left that takes you back to a place called Paramin it’s a community in the mountains

that’s a road trip I have to show you pretty soon

right now they are doing works up there so I can’t it doesn’t make sense for me to go there because there will just be a lot of construction and whatnot

as always if you like the work that I do feel free to become a patron on JB’s Man Cave you can go to JBManCave.com or JBorde.com

the links are on my YouTube channel and within the description of this video I see links to become a patron there’s no pressure just those of you who would like to support the work that I do I really appreciate it

by the way I should mention this is seven o’clock in the morning and the reason that we are leaving this early is because the beaches tend to be crowded and uh one thing I don’t like is a crowded beach

and something you may not know is that I don’t only do road trips but I talk about a lot of other stuff it could be as as much as fixing your truck to coding to social issues it’s not just about road trips so when you go to JB’s Man Cave you’ll see a lot of other content

all of these things that I produce matches my own life and the things that I come in contact with issues that I feel are important to me and that may be important to others as well

now when you’re going around these corners you can store that motorbike past day you know be very careful sometimes you need to beep your horn there isn’t a uh line mark on the road and some vehicles some drivers pass really close to you this is not a drive for somebody that’s not learning or new to driving you definitely have to be an experienced driver if you’re coming up here I would not want to be a passenger in a vehicle where the persons you know knew to drive in or just got their license or something like this this could be horrific for them a lot of blind corners a lot of navigating where you’re going as where you know the position of where you are on the road versus the vehicles that are coming ahead

also if you’re driving a manual transmission like I am knowing how to use the gears how to use the gas to slow you down and so forth

now there’s uh some some I have read some articles and some people have told me there’s a strong magnetic presence along this strip of road

where rare earth metals are probably very deep within you and cause a magnetic pull and there’s somewhere around this road where you can actually put your vehicle in neutral even if it’s going uphill and the pull will be so great that it will keep your vehicle going

if you know more about that feel free to comment in the comments area of my YouTube channel within this video please make sure that you’re replying with within this video because sometimes you know people will comment

about one thing but put it on the different videos so you know sometimes people are wondering what what are you talking about you know

and as with most of my other long road trips I try to put a key video key within the description and that key allows you to jump to various important or highlighted parts of the video if for some reason you feel like oh this road trip is going on too long a little hype by a little agitated or you have time constraints you know you can use the key to jump straight to the beach if that’s what you’re interested in

mind you like my other videos

when I get to the Maracas beach I am going to show it to you in a way that you have not seen before now years ago when people went to Maracas beach they would show the waters the people bathing in the waters and so forth that is you know way near 2022 showing people and showing them you know semi-naked is just not politically correct anymore and in some cases it’s not even lawful so I’m not gonna be focusing on that if you were looking for that then you would need to look for another video I i will be showing you the beaches the water of course but I will be doing it in a delicate way to be respectful of people and their privacy as well as keeping it all good

now here’s one of the lookouts we’re not going to stop here now because the sun will be shining into the lens but that’s a look out there where you can see the whole bee you’ll actually be able to see Maracas be from there on the way back um

in another video because and on this day we actually drove along the whole north coast road going past Blanchisseuse but I can’t show you all of that in this video so in this video is just going to be focusing on marcus well anyway back I will show you what it looks like from there

so you get all these little different little cold spots that you could stop and look take pictures if you like and so forth the only issue I have is that a lot of this area tends to get clouds low lying clouds as well or sometimes the rain will come and that could really spoil your shots so you know like anything else in videography photography or whatever have you the timing is of importance

you know they have any sun any right location the weather just right not a set of people blocking you it’s really hard to time

and of course you can see we are descending

more or less the rest of the um road to the b Maracas b will be a descent there will still be some uphills but unless going down

one thing I i wish they would do too is have better reinforcement of the rails on the cliff side that’s the side on the left there are a lot of open areas [..] road that can be very dangerous

again if you’re driving up here be very careful

now as you see there aren’t a lot of structures but there are some people do build to the left and the right mostly the right wherever they get an opportunity but largely this area is green all green and I hope it remains that way as we get closer to Maracas you will start to see a little more development

but honestly since I was a child coming up here everything relatively looks the same

if you haven’t been here in years you may say okay well most of this is the same and when we get to the actual Maracas be cheerios you will see as we tune this corner that about the only thing that is different maybe the um

the car park various other things that were structures that were built up but nothing that you know would jump outside you

there’s all there are always talks about

doing this or that but it never comes to fruition

so this is more or less the end of this long road trip and we will be greeted by cm Maracas b when we bend that corner that’s coming up to them only last one I was talking about

and it’s early morning so like I said the sun is shining into us at the lens and it’s good because down a lot of people are wrong and that is Maracas be ahead

now a lot of people tend to go right but a lot of people don’t know that there’s this area on a left near the fishing village now

right here you used to be able to park you could just I could just turn right there and park but notice they put up no parking signs and why is that most likely because they want to force people to pay for parking yes and Maracas you know have to pay to park it’s something that’s been around for a few years but still new to a lot of you if you haven’t been to Maracas in a while

their pros and cons of that one is again everywhere you’re going to almost seems like you have to pay for everything you know right there’s a park why can’t I park why is there a sign there

of course you know paying for parking at least you you believe you would like to believe that your vehicle’s a little more protected you could park straight ahead across there by those trees there are there are parking places there

the park here as of today is ten dollars an hour or forty for the day so it’s not too bad and that’s that’s um tt dollars

so if you park in for the d

forty dollars will not be much money in us something like

6 6 us somewhere around there

now you notice I enabled sound that way you can hear the uh the sea breeze the ocean and we’re catching some crabs here when I say catching and I’m just talking about recording I don’t actually believe in catching crabs or consuming them or anything I like to leave nature alone and this is Maracas beach

not a lot of people come on this side they tend to go towards my right

this is the river that enters the ocean don’t worry I am going to explore this whole area in a way that you have never seen before because most people will come here and you know make a few video shots of them swimming or them any water or the water itself or just stay still and watch but they will not take the time to go to you know go through it in a thorough way as do you were there so if this particularly particular jetty or abandoned jetty or mashed up jetty or whatever you want to call it was of interest of you to you then you would have want to come here and see this so I’m gonna cover all of it

and if you’ve seen my other videos you would know that I like to be pretty thorough with walking around and covering places that most people want

so that’s a bridge that you cross to get the parking on your right and that bridge will take you to the beach

that’s a beach itself that’s the whole Maracas bay there

so I’ve given you like a 360.

that blue and white building I believe used to be like some sort of resort hotel or whatever but there’s nothing going on there beaches were restricted in Trinidad for a very long time and it only opened up a couple of weeks ago

the Maracas water is what could be considered rough what you’re looking at is actually very calm for this beach it was very calm water but it’s the kind of ocean that I want to warn you if you are not a good swimmer or you don’t know how to swim I would not recommend it you would need to stay by the shoreline do not go out into the waters I have witnessed for myself my own eyes maybe five times that I have been to this beach and I don’t come to this beach often about five times where I have seen people pulled out of the water who have drowned and died or almost died because they simply you know want to go deep into the water and swim and they can’t handle it you know no matter how strong you are no matter how good of a swimmer you are there are currents in the Maracas beach waters that are really strong and as humans we cannot fight against the immense strength of mother nature so be careful

so because it’s early we are going to explore and I don’t have to worry about people getting in front of my lens this is a lifeguard look outpost

I was going to go up there and look at it from that point of view but then I saw the sign you can’t be there unless you’re authorized skip that

and I’m I must apologize for the shakes at times um sometimes

I don’t know I have to get a better position for I to experiment more with that stabilizer on that pool I think it’s sometimes it gets caught up for the pool and it starts to vibrate and the stabilizer can’t cool

by the way there’s no fee to actually come on the beach the beaches open to the public anybody can come it used to be that there would be these guys that would pressure you to to get um chairs on tents and bears things from them and they would actually put it ahead of time and block up the beach and sort of in an intimidating way make you feel like in order to be on a beach you would have to get a chair or a tent or whatever umbrella but it’s not so brilliant government got a rule on that where they could not put out their chairs or whatnot unless somebody was actually asking for it so they keep it stacked here you can see there on the left

you can bring your own stuff to the beach if you want to your own umbrella your own cheers whatever have you that’s what we do

when you’re in this beaches it’s quite windy you can hear it anyway in the mic no I still haven’t gotten a cat moth to cover that mic I really have to and the thing is too I create a lot of these videos in advance so although I have intention to do something you don’t see it right away because the video is already recorded

so we are walking across the beach

still hardly anybody here and I can tell you by 12 o’clock noon

it’s going to be packed

well but um I’ll be as it’s this elite allows me to record without having to worry about getting people within the view of the camera

now if you haven’t been to Maracas for a long time these structures will be new to you

they are part of the

project to make the area more palatable if you want to call it up

before people would sell in little shacks bacon shark or sandwiches or whatever have you why do eat shark meat quite a lot and um it’s part of the cultural idea that when you come to Maracas you eat something called a shark and a beak which is a flute flower fried

so these these um structures allow them to set up whatever have a bar have a drink eat something and so forth I believe that yellow building ahead is the administration building

the area where I am now is where most of the people will come and

set up their tower their chairs and so forth to go in the ocean it’s more like the center part of the beach

you got a good view of the bee out there

if you’re wondering about the color of the ocean that’s a it’s a foreign

dark blue deep navy blue and then as it comes to the show you see traces of green aquamarine and then when the waves crashes like a khaki brown the same color of the sand as it’s being kicked up

by the way I’m wearing my jeans my waterproof construction shoes and all that while here there’s a dog digging themselves under the chairs

because I will be going all on a road and stuff I won’t be swimming today I will have other videos for that but that’s not today today is to give you a full look of the Maracas be sure the coast and I will be even going across the thai record which is another beach to have a look there briefly

looks like somebody decided to have a patriotism

and advertise at the same time

that area across there is the copper

built by the government you have to pa2 to go across there this is more or less one some of the main area where people come through

and um they have done a pretty good job of

taking care of the sand here the actual beach itself they used to have a lot of um weeds on grass on tree stumps on roots

but they have done a pretty good job of cleaning up and getting it prepared for everybody

those of you can pick it up there a lot of birds singing

I’m going to take you all to the main road

so you got an idea of what the area is like from there

the road ahead is where we came

every time I raise the pool the the stabilizer tends to kick back I don’t know why it does that but it always does if you ever see me for example and suddenly kicks back so the guy there on the tent is selling doubles just local snack food

this is the Maracas area

so

they’ve cut a lot of trees down and I really hope that they don’t cut anymore

you know part of the whole scenery is you know looking at the trees

without coconut trees on a beach what is there in a tropical island

again if you’re new to JB’s Man Cave this is how I normally um record my walk through videos not stop into their show in the beautiful areas but show you everything so you can see everything as though you were there and what you would see

the more touristic videos I leave for another time

these videos are intended to help you just you know really feel like okay this is what everything looks like no not just focusing on what’s pretty but giving you the whole gist of the area on what’s around if you’re a tourist and you plan to come to marcus this is what you would see

if you haven’t been to Trinidad in a long time this is what you would see

now this section of the beach is another populated area it has its own free car park I should call it an impromptu car park that people create up ahead

that’s a gas station over here by the way

nearly renovated uh I said new leah but it’s been like that for a few years but if you haven’t been here a while I’ll be new

and there’s a little village of a community within mark that’s ahead you know to the right of where I’m walking is where it will take you to a waterfall not a huge one but I don’t even know if it’s still there because sometimes you know these waterfalls on the excavation and land grabbing everything changes of course I’ll have to visit one day

we’re gonna head back to the road and from the road you’re gonna I’m gonna be able to show you the Maracas bay from a different angle as well as capture another beach quarter corner this part of

the beach

tends to be with a lot of trash people not really taking care of their they don’t the park whatever you know why it is that once something is free you feel like you could do anything with it I don’t understand

see what I mean it’s not kept as well as the other side of the beach

but people like to come here and bathe in this part of the beach

road up ahead is where we would have come from and this road continues along the north coast

there’s some lovely eye candy there

hardly anybody comes up on this side but along all here you know if you if your interest is just um

take pictures you’re not really going any water you can stop all along here and do just that take pictures take any scenery

you can see how lovely it is

so

that’s the Maracas bay area

your full stretch of the beach and we came from all the way on the other end

and I don’t mind picking up people when they’re this small this small you can’t identify anybody you can’t see anything that might be something I may need to blue so it’s okay for us to take on everybody bathing here and again there aren’t many people because it’s maybe about 7 30 8 in the morning

but a little later here will be packed

from my personal experience you want to come early I mean while

the ocean is salt and it’s self-cleaning I think people when the beach is too crowded it’s not it doesn’t become sanitary anymore when people are clustered together it’s best to go when it’s you know all clean and nobody’s around

what I would have liked to know is when the u.s military was here billionaires rule if the b itself was

this nice when I said this nice this prepared for breathing activities or was it rocky and they had to make a lot of movement bring on sand and so forth

if you’re from that euro have pictures from that era feel free to comment in the comment area of my YouTube channel in this video I’ll be interested to know about that

so we’re living in Maracas beach area

and you can see how it can get rockier that’s why not everywhere or at all coastlines are good enough for

dating sometimes it’s it’s really dangerous but anyway we’re living in Maracas beach area and we’re going to head towards another beach called Tyrico

now growing up Tyrico was actually my favorite bridge I can’t say that it’s the same now I don’t even know if I have a favorite beach in Trinidad anymore but it’s changed a lot

the reason I had like Tyrico more than Maracas is because the um the water is a bit calmer it allowed for more swimming to take place rather than worrying about jumping over jumping through waves

and growing up people less people would go to Tyrico people were mostly interested in Maracas all the time so it would always be crowded and Tyrico would always have you know less people so it was a good place to go but it can be almost said that the opposite is true now

um

people tend to conquer it too closely jumble together

but you know when you come to this area you can judge for yourself and see just like here in Maracas

it’s early so

there aren’t many people on the beach

I jumped over the road rails to try and capture here and it looks nice right at this point

good eye candy despite all the trash

and I’ve spoken about that many times in my video why it is that trains that kind of simply juice bins and bags and keep their trash until they get home anyway this is beautiful I don’t know about you but I could sit here and watch this for hours

and the sun is hitting it just right this is one of these perfect moments that I talked about where the sun is just right it’s a nice clear day you know you’re getting all these shots that you want

and I’ll bet that if you ever came to Maracas you never came to this spot right

you’ve never seen this before

that’s very cool

and you can see there aren’t many people there either

now this is what I was talking about JB’s Man Cave especially for those of you who are new to my channel um you know if this was a tourist video i’d have to edit a lot of it and I would never show parts like this with trash around or things that don’t seem interesting but my channel is all about giving you the raw I do have videos that cater for just deny cities but that’s not this video these longer videos tend to be the raw unedited versions of what I’m seeing so that you can feel like you are there you really feel like okay we are going on this trip together

and with these videos I talk a lot and I need to take a

water break

by the way I drink a lot of water I must go through hmm

maybe four or five liters of water day

I might seem like a lot but the humidity you should really keep yourself hydrated that’s how I keep myself cool

don’t focus on those soft drinks those sweetened drinks they just make you more thirsty raise your blood sugar level nothing good about them just focus on the water all natural all right so we’re on Tyrico beach

and I’m showing you some of what you may not know missing on Tyrico

and you can see how the water is I don’t know if you could tell that the water is a little bit calmer yeah we’ve just cracked there but

I mean that’s nothing much not to say that there aren’t dangers like Maracas feature you can still be pulled by serious currency entire eco again if you’re not a swimmer or you’re new to swimming or you’re not strong please stay by the shoreline do not venture into the deep waters

usually there are lifeguards around um even if you’re not seeing them they’re usually a yellow shirt red shorts and they usually post flags and these flags indicate where you should not be so you basically look at the flag look across at the water the flag is opposite and you’ll know that you’re not supposed to swim there usually what why how do lifeguards know where to put these flags is based on the current sometimes the current uh near the shoreline will start to kick up and it will make this brown like a brown circle with any water that shows where the water is being pulled out

it’s not so much the waves above but what is underneath that you can’t see while you’re swimming is what the lifeguard looks for

those currents can pull you when you’re in water pull you under and take you out into the ocean while underwater that’s the danger so while you might be looking at waves and what’s above the danger looks below I was trying to capture a flower here and then I saw a human bird and I’m trying look at it I was really lucky to get this hormone booed

we really have some beautiful birds flora and fauna here

really nice

if you if you come into Trinidad for that reason like you’re a bird watcher or whatever you will have a lot for you and store for you make sure to bring a good zoom lens so you can pick up all the boots we have really colorful birds very vocal birds and in some cases they may even interact

with you

so that was just a little taste of Tyrico we’re gonna head back to Maracas so you can get the other angle of Maracas that you have not seen before again I’m gonna cover all the areas so you see all the nitty gritty

these bricks are on the ground because the guy we just passed here I guess this is his property and you know he doesn’t want people to just pull up and park so he’s made his own little parking spot there you have to pay to park

as we walk we can take in a bit of the beach

and maybe some of the garbage as well

and this is where I say that you know there should be no issues with employment I know they have this erp and whatnot for unemployed people but the management of it is questionable because I think a lot of these areas should be maintained more than just certain times of the week or whatever daily people should be on here checking for garbage checking for whatever and cleaning up the area because this is one of the big tourist spots of um the country

and you might say oh that’s just decided yeah but if you notice when we were coming up from Maracas there was also a lot of garbage trash lying around and it’s not going to pick up itself the guys who um come to collect the the trash the garbage truck they attempt to take up most of it as they clear any bags but the problem is it’s not really their job to clean up otherwise they would never finish so there needs to be specific cleanup crews that I would say come on every morning early and they just make this massive cleanup not just on the um

the immediate beachfront but everywhere along the road road and shoreline

I mean

unfortunately because of this focus on oil and gas train that has not developed this tourism sector and this is one of the few pinnacles if you want to call it that of tourism so it needs to be immaculate

I didn’t realize just how much my um stabilizer shaking up there I need to recalibrate it

either that or adjust the fitting for my lens

one thing I as I’m hearing music I mean I like music just like anybody else but sometimes I don’t care for the kind of music that somebody else please so you know somebody might be into a song but you’re not necessarily into that song but they have to play it loud enough for the whole beach and to me we could do better than that if you want to play the music played for your immediate self or whatever but not for the entire area because sometimes you want to come to this area to get away not to know here more noise

this is the part of the beach where I was saying it used to be overridden by grass and roots and whatnot you could see this area is still like that near the beach used to have something like that as well but I noticed that they did a pretty okay job of getting rid of them

it’s a black bird a couple of them

so a lot of them are wrongs probably have a nest somewhere it will fly around your head if you get in there to the nest

and you can see how clear the beaches

some of these coconut trees are about

30 or 40 feet tall even more

you can see that I am able to capture above the roofs on the left I’ll give you an idea of how tall you would be if you’re watching this

now as we head back here I’m gonna head back to where I started and then I’m gonna capture more of the beach area and the village

where it’s a fishing village you’re gonna go in there and around it under the far west of the beach where hardly anybody goes but there’s some interesting things to see there as well

this is the restroom area that is one thing you have to pay for on the beach I think it’s like five tt dollars which is less than a dollar u.s

and you can see that the beach is starting to get more people on it

and it’s one of the reasons I’m not in case you’re wondering walking on a shoreline again I’m not focusing on people but the area

my job is not to make anybody feel uncomfortable

wow

this is more or less where um I started the general area

this is the river that goes into the ocean

starts from there and it goes straight into the Maracas b and besides having signs of people still will venture into that water for what I don’t know

but there’s it’s there’s a sign up that says there should be no bathing in that water

here again is another part of the beach that I’m sure nobody really frequents because really there’s nothing going on in this section

other than a few trees this is where you know having some infrastructure would do well this big open space could be used for something

that’s shy bush I’ve shown that in some of my other videos when you touch it the leaves close

and again I’m coming all here because as as I said before I’m showing you from the angle that maybe you have never seen before and I want to cover all of Maracas not just you know the beach where and they show a line which everybody focuses on

do

when you come this early as well it’s not very hot it’s rather cool and sometimes going in the ocean the ocean could be like it could almost feel like it’s freezing

until you dip under

but of course you know getting here at seven in the morning is is not an easy feat especially because you know if you’re a working person and you’re custom getting up very early to beat traffic in the morning you know when saturday comes on a public holiday comes you want to be able to sleep in a bit you don’t want to feel like you’re hustling on a day you should be resting

but you know if you choose to sleep in and then come to this beach you’re gonna find it might stress you out a bit because it’s you know it begins to be parked

this is a bridge to get to the other side where the village is now to the right of this bridge in our little clearing area there used to be a big ship parked there it used to look like a pirate ship I believe and kids could go and play there and stuff but they removed it sad to see but this is some of the things that you know I wish they would bring back

you know that that was a really good um

enhancements if you want to call it that for the beach and for children

I don’t know if they plan to replace it with something more better but it’d be really cool to see that back again

so there’s some people coming across that version I’m just going to kind of hang around here a bit waiting for them to get across so that I can go across and show you

that part of the village

watching

all right so let’s go

and if you’re hearing that sound like if aluminum foil is being crumpled together that’s because the bridge songs light up when you cross it it almost feels like it’s not steely but it is

so this is the road that we came long to get to the car park I’m just gonna visit it visit some of the um vegetation before I head into the village

again after you feel like you want to skip anything you can use the video key to get past some parts of this video

I always try to show everything as it is the raw let’s see hibiscus by the way

don’t see a lot of those anymore you should be very plentiful all over the island but not anymore

at least not in the city

another version of the hibiscus there’s one that gives that crinkle flower like that and the other one that has a flush petals

you know it’s so hard to make shots like that because look look at how I make trying to take these shots of the flaws and but yes still there’s garbage strewn up ahead in the green right below me

if I already wanted to make a tourist video of this I would have to literally take a couch bag and clean up the air before I could film anything

I forgot the name of this flower it uses a lot when they are doing decorating

that road ahead is a road that will continue towards Tyrico

I’m waiting for some people to pass a certain part that I want to go to

when they do then I will continue up

by the way I come from a family of avid swimmers

I myself um not a competitive swimmer but

do a lot of swimming

in my time not anymore

I stole other things too like um

going to the bottom of a pool standing up sitting down underwater meditative state

so this sign says I love Maracas that’s the first thing you see as you come here they look like they’re building up something on the left not sure what that’s going to be but I hope it’s something that enhances the area

and I’ll see who will be ahead this is what most people see when they come to Maracas

and like avail 360.

this road going that way without white cars is where we came from so I will take you back to marvel and onwards to cold spin

this road on the left takes you to the village

so you’re gonna stay here a bit and then you’ll start to see me walking this way left I’m gonna head into the village

so I’m taking some shots of the boats

some of these scavenger birds again in a part of the Maracas area that you probably do not come to visit but is nevertheless an inherent part of the Maracas bay

beach quiz of course don’t come on the side because it’s full of rope boats nets

scavenger birds you know this is really basically the fisherman’s area

and when they when I when they get beat and stuff too they just basically

put it all over the beach so the birds come and they attack it

and they are relatively subtle today but because I’m wrong they’re a bit startled

and just now you’re going to see a lot of them going up into flight and then they’re gonna start circling

they’re eating what I believe is some um shark young

some pieces of it

c

so

I have some other features of a beach that I went to in the salt showing a couple of these birds fighting off over a piece of fish maybe you saw that one there they are cycling

and standard knowledge if you don’t know that when they circle like this it means that something is dead below

of course we already know it’s fish meat

and these kind of birds if you stood along stood alone other stands still for a long time they would come and peck at you as well

we’re going to go all the way to the other end here this is a part of the beer again that not many people come but another less is part of Maracas bay

I have on my shoes so I don’t really gonna enter the water that’s another video

just make sure you subscribe for free and you’ll see those videos

let’s jump across here

I love to see rock formations as the uh waters come and encroach on the earth and the rocks makes all kinds of different formations on holes

make some little caves too

front side up or like that like that

like this

when I’m actually I’m recording out there I can’t see what’s inside for me it’s dark it’s the camera that’s picking up whatever and I won’t know what it picks up until I’m watching it

but you could probably hide a lot of stuff here

including yourself

might be a good area for um like a cookout or something I don’t know it’s probably water comes in too much you would have to wait till it’s

more to see

nevertheless it’s picturesque

something that um I used to see too a lot and I don’t know if they still have it but um they used to give these rides

uh in the ocean

like these blimps or biggies big flutes people would go on it and they would pull it all over the ocean not sure how safe that was but it’s something that I did see them offer before the pandemic I don’t know if they’ve restarted

that’s so you can see what’s above me

and you can see this area is not very stable

any more encroachment by the waters and a lot of these trees and stuff will probably just fall into the ocean

and I wish I could go closer to the water but um like I said because I wanted to walk around the whole area I had to have my boots on I don’t want my construction boots too big black boots that are waterproof allowing me to go here but at the same time you know I can’t go into full water

so I’m sure this is Maracas as you’ve never seen it before

different right if you’ve come here before you probably just came straight to the beach you jumped in the ocean you dried yourself and you went back home but now you get to see it at a different angle taking some of the scenery this mix would make for a beautiful painting right there

keep on looking we still have a long ways to to go until I get back to my original position on the beach but keep watching and taking any scenery any songs

another video will come up where I continue the road trip and we go through a lot of mud

and we see some very interesting things that I’m sure you have never seen along the north post we basically go as far as we can go

but I hope you enjoyed this video of the Maracas bay and beach area village

as always I appreciate you watching I appreciate you subscribing remember you can subscribe for free all you do is click on the button that says subscribe it is free you don’t you’re not paying for anything you just need to have a Gmail account once you have a Gmail account you can press the button to subscribe and by subscribing all that means is that you are fan of JB’s Man Cave and of these videos and it will give you a notification as well of any future videos that are coming up

but I produce videos every day

twice a day three times a day sometimes

and as you can see most of my videos are about capturing things as you would see it like if you were there with me

capturing things that most people will ignore

focusing on the area rather than people you know I don’t I do have videos about people and stuff but you know

if you’re abroad if you want to know more Trinidad you won’t really be studying people as much as the area you know what are you going to see in a place

you know nobody comes on our country and say okay how can I go and speak to the people no they they come to the country expecting to see the police you know where they’re going to go what are they going to see in nature and the surroundings and stuff

let’s have a closer look at what those birds are eating which is squeamish you could look away

as you can see those little baby sharks on the ground

but I’m going to leave it here for you to continuously still has a lot of time left watching but as far as voice I’m just going to leave you with natural songs feel free to comment let me know what you thought about this road trip and walk through Maracas thanks for watching and continue to watch

Other videos: Walking Around San Fernando, Trinidad

Walking Around Arima, Trinidad, Caribbean

Hello friends we are back again with another walk through this time we’re in Arima proper it’s really busy areas and we are here on the island of Trinidad which makes a part of Trinidad and Tobago islands in the Caribbean.

ARIMA Trinidad and Tobago Caribbean Walk Through covering major Streets by JBManCave.com

We are small island so if you’re from a bigger country you might be hard to find us on a map just look it up on google Trinidad it’s called a place called Arima

so I did uh Port of Spain, San Fernando, Chaguanas and now I’m in the fourth largest place within the country which is Arima

the official name is actually the royal chartered borough of Arima

and as you can see there are a lot of sports facilities here and I remember they are lucky that way

they have developed home their stadium they have their own football club lots of sports and activities which is very good because you know it keeps all the youth occupied

and where I’m right now is by the eastern main road at this point I’ll be facing east

and this is sort of like the mini promenade here

and I’m going to be heading more towards the center where the shopping in the market and so forth

I’m leaving all natural songs so you’ll get a gist of what it feels and sounds like I’m using a video extension rod so you’ll have low shots like this high level shots and shots from above so you get a good view of everything the idea of JB’s Man Cave videos if you aren’t familiar is to pick up everything in a raw way so normally a video would be edited so that you know you would not pick up on a lot of this stuff but jb in one cave I want you to feel like if you are there

so I don’t edit anything you get any whole raw output because you know if you were walking in a rima you would be seeing it just like this you wouldn’t be running up and down and only seeing part of it and this way you get a good feel of what arema is like there’s some pigeons eating a local snack food called doubles

and right there is a

bus station region area

and on the left is a popular furniture place

a lot of shops eating areas and so forth

and as you have guessed I still haven’t done anything about that when wearing any song I have to get a cat and I just haven’t done it yet too much stuff to do

but as you will also notice in these um shopping areas and the proper places that I visit it’s very noisy music cars alarms people

there isn’t any serenity here for sure it’s very noisy

those little sharks on the right uh where people sell

knickknacks plants food crafts and so forth

and you can always tell when I’m using the extension rod because I just talk all over everything as compared to other people walking you can see that guy there it looks short right

now this area here is like a little park

and then part of the park is a tribute to a man who is very famous locally and abroad for calypso he goes by the stage name of Lord Kitchener he’s known as the grand master of calypso although

some people call him Lord Kitch

in another video I have where I covered the Nelson Mandela park slash King George V park I covered a statue of Lord Kitchener dedicated to him if you haven’t seen that video make sure to look for it

as part of the market

all the area to the right is the market

hmm

a lot of times when I am using this extension rod I have to be very careful with the lines you can see how many lines there are all over

telephone lines cable lines electricity lines and so forth so I’m constantly looking over I have to watch out for people watch to see where I’m walking watch for the lines above so it’s no easy task

and then people always you know asking me questions making comments what am I doing and so forth so it’s a lot of ticking and at the same time I’m trying to get the right shot for you so this is the market you can see how busy it is um whenever you come here you get a lot of good deals

there’s a lot of competition so sellers will try to do their best to accommodate you buying as many goods from them as possible

I don’t know if you can pick it up but a lot of birds singing as well

no I don’t really plan a particular way I will walk I just go as I go so in doing so I will come back here again and make a loop because part of the road I’m on right now it makes a big loop around it’s got sort of like a one-way system so you have to make a loop in order to go wrongly

a little more proper

so I’m gonna head back north and seem to see some of the shops there and head towards one of the most iconic landmarks in Arima which is called the dial

in case you’re wondering Arima uh the name comes from Amerindian with

the the Indians the aborigines that occupied the islands they called you know they called the area Arima because there was a river or is a river that passes through here and Arima was essentially built along that river and the wood for water is Arima so that’s how it has its name

unlike my other videos I am recording in 2.7 k which is better than 1080p better than HD is or full HD um but also allows for me to record for a very long time this this whole video is about more than an hour of walking around town it’s not as bad as um when I had to walk around San Fernando which is very hilly I was quite overcoat and it’s sometimes much bigger I remember it’s not as big and as small as flat so if you do plan to come here you don’t have to worry about walking up and down hills

and as you can see a lot of shops

clothing spectacles shoes pharmacy food anything that you would expect from any kind of tong center city center

every single street so I try to pick it up at least by the view of the camera lens

but in this video I will more or less go all through all the major streets and even around some of the historical places which is actually more quiet areas of a remote problem

another thing I remember is known for is parang which is music played locally usually around Spanish music

kind of upbeat usually I hear it a lot around Christmas time when parang bands will come together and sing about Christmas nativity Jesus and so forth

so apart from sports there’s a lot of music in our remote

interestingly enough just like uh if you saw my video on Mount St. Benedict I talked about how Brazilian monks came and established

the area and built it up to what it is now well similarly monks came to this area and began to establish all that has now become a room or problem

that’s as far back as 1757 huh

if you haven’t seen my video on Mount St. Benedict make sure to have a look very serene up there

now we’re heading towards the Dial which is sort of marked as the very center

of

Arima

I mean anytime somebody hears a remark the first thing you kind of drop drop your mind on is the dial that’s it dial right there it’s that clock right in the center of the street

and you may think oh well that’s no big deal well that’s style that clock came all the way from Nice, France and was bought by the mayor

in 1898 mayor John Francis Wallen he wanted to sort of in modern terms big up Arima because Arima was having great prosperity to do to harvest cocoa harvest and other things that they were doing at the time that made the area grow a lot and this is weird to pay a tribute

before it’s done

me

now in the past I have come up here to do two things um when I was a teenager I used to come up here regularly to go to a place to learn of all things martial arts I know kind of a very far place to come but by the time I was just how it was I came to learn jujitsu and archaic

and that was just a a thing when I was a teenager you have a place I mean I’m not sure if it was um I know it was on the western side but I can’t remember this street

that guy just lost his car

this road is actually one of the roads you can use to enter

a room from the highway

I have another video coming out about that so you can look out for it so I make a loop a wrong area

so the second thing I also used to come to remote for was the quartz the keys with this guy trying to scan me off and you start to come all the way up here a 10 quart and that was an ordeal and the quartz used to be right here on the right

but um it seems like they moved it not sure where it is now whoever knows where it is now feel free to update me in the comments area of my YouTube channel in this video make sure you please see what you’re answering don’t just split it out I don’t just say John Street or Luke Street I mean I wouldn’t know what you’re referring to but that is that is there it is seeing it the quartz now a blue building yeah so it’s still there

see how this house is with the glass windows the loofahs and so forth ventilation blocks any top

that is the kind of look from yesteryear houses in Trinidad

it’s nice when you see some of them still around

now interestingly enough the further north you go the more quiet it gets even though there still are some shopping areas around here there aren’t as many but the closer you go to the market wow it’s really noisy down there

now for me people in Arima have their own temperament they’re very talented as I said with sports and music but um in my opinion they tend to keep to themselves more or less a little more private

look at the whole [..] right just like the look of it

well people were very shy see the camera

doing some repair work on the left there

now if I mute the background song is because I play a lot of music and I don’t want not to be picked up on camera so I may have to mute it at some point the background that is

you can see the dial around there from a different angle

if you came from a room and you lived here grew up here you know and you live abroad this would be very informative for you

and if you did please let us know in the comments area

this is a supermarket grocery

so

a lot of people use music as a way to captivate people to come into the establishment

as you can see a lot of the Arima proper is a mix of both residential and commercial

where we’re heading now is to the more more peaceful part

and I could probably say it’s peaceful because right today is a Saturday there’s no school but if there was school even you know school is in sessions it may be more or less quiet but if it was on another day it would probably be noisy because you’d have all the kids but we will pass some schools and maybe some of these schools you attended or may know someone who attended be sure to tell anybody you know from a remote about the video especially if they haven’t been here for a while they would want to see it for instance this is the Arima Boys RC school

and I like the uh motto deeds not words

this is another iconic landmark in Arima not as popular but nevertheless one of the central historical sites that you can look at when you come to Arima it’s a very old church

and it’s good to see that they they more or less try to keep the uh

same look that’s it Santa Rosa Church

that’s the breakdown of their

activities for the

time period of the year

all right next to the church is another school as well and opposite this church across the park which you’ll see in a while is also another school this is a remote girls r c school

in case you don’t know locally a lot of the catholic schools they always have girls and boys separate

by the way if you like what I do feel free to become a patron and make a donation you can go right to JB’s Man Cave um on my website JBManCave.com

there’s a donation button a donation link feel free to give whatever you like there’s no obligation just if you like to support my work

that little cage used to be the nativity scene I guess they keep it as uh all year round structure

the unique thing about this park you can’t tell too well from this video but the park is built on a slant almost like a amphitheater

so there’s like a hole in the middle

this is the other school I was telling you about

Arima girls government

those are seeds break it open the seeds inside all dry

so if you’re looking for some place to find a little bit of serenity when you come to Arima right where I am now is a good place however you will notice something in particular there are no parked benches so if you did decide to drive you would probably have to stay in your car or lean against the wall sit on the edge

not too sure why there’s more development in that park there’s no flowers there’s nothing much going on there no benches if you know feel free to

comment again on my YouTube channel and as I was trying to explain earlier when you comment please say what you’re commenting about don’t just say you know a word or two words we may not know what you’re referring to so you know if it’s speaking about the park please say consider any park extra tractor track software whatever it is you’re explaining

that’s what our police looks like here on any more modern squad cars

puts down on your right

so

a building on your left is the national insurance

building

uh

foreign

today was very humid sunny but very cloudy you know I was glad it had a bit of clothes sometimes I don’t really care for the clothes because especially if they have grey clothes to make everything look great um the Saharan dust was in the process of leaving overhead the country so there wasn’t as much there still is but not as much there wasn’t this haze that also causes everything to look great

I think this is a street where I used to um come to learn martial arts I think I was in that building down there to the right where the green wall is on the top I believe it is there

it’s not the same layout as it is now but I think I said I was just so many decades ago

in those days used up the maxis and stuff and you would ride in these big maxi taxis they were like buses playing music enjoying the ride and so forth my old age driving a is not exactly something I want to do for a long distance and that’s what I look like now trying to to walk here fully covered from all that sun

I tried doing this um in San Fernando I did not have a hat and that really killed my skin by the way if you ever come into the Caribbean make sure that you have a lot of sunblock and stuff to um cover your skin because skin cancer is real

really damage your skin

those um buses that you see now those are maxi taxis they’re like mini buses take it from one end of an area to the next

usually air condition and usually ride is not bad the only disadvantage is they keep stopping till that passengers on and off which makes the ride um a bit longer than if you were riding in a car or had your own car

so we’re heading west

and you will be able to see the western part of Arima proper making a loop over everything so that I could try and get as much view as possible that isn’t what our ambulance looks like they don’t have a specific look and some of them are private

but that’s what more or less they look like

so again a good shot there of a maxi taxi

and like most of the areas I cover I mean I could go on for hours and hours looking for every little street on every little nook and kranny but you know I just can’t cover all of that so I try to find more or less than major streets so as I said before there are so many little streets that are not on your map tracks trails circulars and so forth but you know you could go on all the trying to get it all

something you love also noticed is the different looks of houses in Trinidad the contrast you can see those houses on the right and left

and then you may see like a little shack or whatever have you make it for instance look at how sunny left

that house has come from decades ago

let’s see how I was talking about that’s really old

that’s another one there that gives you a good idea of the design of houses back then used to tend to build them on stilts

with galvanized roofs and the roofs used to be high to let the heat out with ventilation lots of ventilation now everything is sort of sealed up people rely on air condition and whatnot they don’t want vents and have a lot of burger proofing on glass so times has changed a lot

here’s another church with an interesting design

and how’s that old look about it but yet still

a modern touch St. Jude’s

by the way there’s a strong presence of both catholic and Anglican in any country

a lot of evangelical

jewel witnesses

have a few kingdom halls here in the country as well and you also have you know Hindu

Muslim

already many Buddhists and even fewer Jews… Jewish but mainly it’s a lot of Catholics and Anglicans not seen any at least any places that I’ve walked here today you won’t see any mosques or temple Hindu temples this is another school

there are my boys

maybe you went to the school so this would be of interest to you

like I said it’s a Saturday so it’s all closed up now and quiet so you get to see it if you know if there was cool children running around there I would not have been able to take that shot I don’t like taking shots of children

I don’t like the invasion neither would I want anybody taking shots of my children so I try to keep it all public just public places and public spaces

so I don’t know if you can recognize this spot but this is where I initially started

does it look familiar

I was across the street there filming from that side looking across here where I am

giving you so I’m giving you a different

anger this lady was asking me if I’m taking selfies no I wasn’t taking selfies one of the least things I do at videoing is taking selfies

I don’t want to crack the camera

what do we have into me across there

it’s all good you know like most places that I talk about in Trinidad you see some development you see some progress here and there and then there’s all the opposite

the next dumping ground and a dog decides let me look and see what trainees I’ve been dumping that I can make good use of

that flower implants that we’re gonna pass near is called the bougainvillea very interesting plant I’ve featured it in a number of my videos

and you can see where the maxi taxis those red and white

buses on the left there they’re gathered they’re waiting for passengers so they can head back towards both the stream

I’m going to cross over them looking at this house as and passing as the old design interesting

now we’re heading um back east and and heading east you’ll get to the more crowded part of Arima proper early shopping is

oh

for those of you wondering yes we do carry a lot of the foreign franchises like we just passed papa john’s there

no they have dominoes they have a lot of other ones you would expect Mc Donald’s, Burger King the other thing is air house doors but um unless you see them everywhere something else that is kind of iconic for the area too is the fire station or my fire station stay ahead the center of your screen

modernize that a bit

I’m gonna go across there and have a closer look that flag that’s flying the red white and black that’s the flag of Trinidad and Tobago if you’re not familiar

and that’s what one of the appliances by appliances I mean the fire truck looks like

it’s one of these smaller ones

looks like they are doing some maintenance on it

we continue each towards the busier parts of our remote

so

so I’ve covered a lot of arenas so far what do you think about Arima those are mangoes bananas if you have lived here and gone abroad do you find it looks the same do you find it

has a lot of improvement things look different a lot of people come to my channel from abroad you know they left Trinidad in the 80s the 70s the 90s or whatever and they will say wow things have changed so much but if you live in here you know you won’t really see much of a change because progress happens so slow so

for you it’s just all the same but for somebody that’s been living abroad it was I mean look at this and say wow that’s it’s so different some other people say oh you know yeah I see different things were more things more or less look the same

I don’t know what you think

for me just come from the time when I used to come up as a teenager I guess I had to do martial arts and stuff

besides you know the refurbishment of places a new building here their store sign change everything for me more or less looks the same the the biggest changes to me is actually the sports facilities developed room the stadium the amphitheater

things like that are the new things

I mean it’s also different that I would say you know where is this place

I guess we each expect improvement we expect things to be different but usually what makes a big difference is when infrastructure has changed and infrastructure doesn’t change much in Trinidad things are more or less kept the same same look same style and so forth

where we’re heading I think would be considered prince street slash road

let’s see I got an idea and have a look

some some nice plants plant shop

of the nicest things to see in china is all the fruits that grow freely

this is some mango tree

we have some really good weather here and really good soil in general that for me we should be growing fruits and vegetables like like no tomorrow

fruits and vegetables should not be expensive in this country I mean people should be should have such an abundance but we should not ever have to import things like fruits and vegetables I mean obviously you will have to improve and import things like apples and other things that may not grow and disclaim it but besides that I just can’t understand why a tropical island like this import so much stuff that we could grow right here

other countries would kill for this kind of um

climate to grow stuff it’s a nice big unbeliever growing there very colorful

in case you’re wondering we have a wide variety of um brand vehicles they’re mostly Japanese some European like you saw the Mercedes bars practically most people have Japanese vehicles

there are some Chinese there are some Indian but very rare mostly it’s Japanese vehicles some from Europe and there are American north American cars on the market some Chevys um

Subarus and so forth they are sold here but they’re not as popular Nissan is a big thing it’s probably the most common because it’s the most cheap most available most parts for its most generic parts most aftermarket parts there’s Toyota is probably close there as well it’s a bit more expensive and it’s not as wide you know the people at home Nissan you know Massy so they you know have made a monopoly out of Nissan here

what kind of brand vehicles do you like

just give me a little taste of some of the shops as I pass by

but you can pretty much see what people are selling you’ll notice that a lot of these stores they don’t you know they don’t keep things on the inside they tend to bring tables and put some of their goods outside

so you recognize where we are this is back by the market remember I said that I was going to

loop back that’s what I’m doing now

I’m going to go down here and make a loop

basically we’re going on pro queen street then I’ll kind of bare right onto Robinson Street then we’re right on top of railway road and back up to the eastern main road which will land us back to where I originally started when I first started this video

let’s see market we’re looking at right now

some people may be wondering why don’t you just um get your fruits and vegetables from the supermarket grocery whatever why do people still go to markets well the markets promise you fresher produce provisions fruits vegetables and it’s way cheaper

as an example and this is an example um you you know you might get an orange let’s say for two dollars any market but it might be ten dollars in a supermarket and that’s no joke

and sometimes if if you’re lucky and the markets your market vendors are closing up and they rather not you know pack up or take home stuff they might give you those same oranges for a dollar each if you’re lucky it all depends

so this is part of the um

places in Arima like I said that have been built up a lot these these sporting facilities we have some tennis courts here and a nice basketball court

place for cyclists place for jogging in fact this I don’t know what it’s like during the evening but I could actually see myself jogging around here for sure

I’ll make a good jog I wonder I wonder how was he distance going around it looks like it might be um

a mile and three quarters maybe two miles or is that too much if somebody knows the um distance going around the green area of this sports complex please let me know in the um

commentary of my YouTube channel all this green here on the right if I went around it I ran around it

not any green air or usually decide what pavement if I if I run along there making a loop constantly passing by the market how many miles is that

I know this is about two point five two and a half

the queen sparks about notice

uh playground area there for the children

this road is used a lot when you basically or you want to exit the remote

and because these streets are all more or less one-way you tend to reach this loop at some point it also helps you to avoid some of the um traffic jams that I know are more popular because you can use this these streets Pro Queen, Robinson and so forth to get away and get back onto the eastern main road without having to go through all that traffic

no I don’t know if this tree is a type of wheat I don’t have like 32 species of poui but I just like the way it looks

I know this is not the only one general hospital this is a sign telling you all together we are going to um pass the Arima general hospital and that also can be considered one of the biggest infrastructure developments in Arima in a long while no longer do people have to travel from here all the way down to the um

Eric Williams medical complex in mount hope they can stay right here in a remote so it’s supposed supposed to have all the um medical facilities modern medical facilities that are needed the people right in this area feel free to comment on that if you like any comments area let me know

so you see we have the grounds here lots of sports and activities football and stuff cricket

and by the way JB’s Man Cave is not just about road trips unlocking and stuff I do cover other issues of trivia crime do it yourself self-awareness even crazy driving and veganism because I am vegan I don’t

eat any animals or use any animal products

I believe in the animals should be as free as we are

if you never thought about that or want to know more more about it I have videos specifically about that and on my channel you can check for those just search and when you do search my channel make sure you’re not using any search all the way to the top there’s a search within the channel for videos just within the channel

there’s another church there Church of the Nazarene

society I know this is a buoy for sure

it’s red

with yellow trim

for me we should have a lot more those buoys I know people might think it’s a waste because it’s not a fruit tree but the flowers are so beautiful it should be everywhere

I candy

I see my general hospital ahead you can see this sign on the top

outlet not sure what that’s about

let’s stay stadium

that’s the hospital

so

as you can see it’s really windy right now which is good for me because I’m pretty hot

now you have a good shot of there

entrance

more or less modernized

there’s a well at least there was a lot of talk a lot of push for sports tourism in the country and be because they want to make Trinidad a place where you know competitive games can be played there was a push to develop stadiums and facilities I’m not sure where that went because of the pandemic maybe it will continue I don’t know I know they were doing a lot to push that here in our remote I hope they continue it because besides bringing a lot of jobs on him company area it also um promotes the area if they’re young ones who have a lot of talent and it can be captured by somebody even from abroad then that can make Arima popular and add to its

stature

this is one entrance to that stadium but um it’s closed now

and this part that’s coming up here features in the middle of it

aborigines people of Trinidad

Americans carbs [Statue Of Hyarima]

there is the Bougainvillea is beautiful

I’m too sure what was happening with my stabilization that kept giving out I don’t think battery was getting weak or if I was getting weak from walking so much

but that’s the statue of park I wish I could have gone in and given you a closer look but it was close and locked

that’s too bad

me

now this is an uh short walk path which is something new again for Arima I was in here when I was a team

and I guess it’s part of the development of the stadiums and other sporting facilities they did this

but it’s only more or less quite a part of our proper so it’s not a lot of activity here I guess if you know they had food stalls and whatnot which they may have later I don’t know then you would see more activity because trainees love food passionate about food

so

I like the um tables

benches our facilities theater sit down which is good

Caroni Swamp, Trinidad, Caribbean

Hey friends we on a road trip today we are in central Trinidad an island in the Caribbean.

This place is called Caroni and we are going to the carny swamp we will not be on a boat or anything or walking through some water but we will be on land looking at the swamp a lot of people when they hear about the currently swam think about getting on a boat a swamp boat that is and going out to look at the scarlet ibis which is the bird you’re seeing on the right a bright red bird that gets its color from the crustaceans on fish and other items it eats.

Caroni Swamp view from on land Trinidad and Tobago Caribbean tour operators Road Trip JBManCave.com

Basically when you come to this part of Trinidad the you you know it’s mostly because you plan to take a tour the city birds snakes the man grows and what not but a lot of people don’t know that you can actually see a lot of that from on land of course not as good as if you took the boat however you know sometimes you want to do something you don’t necessarily want to pay a whole bunch of money especially if you’re with your family and you just want to take a little drive and see something well you’re going to see where you can go as near to the currently swamp as possible without actually going on a boat if you follow the map which is on your screen as well you can see where I’m driving to the way I came was from north you can get to here from south as well I want you to know here you’ll notice there are different tour operators that’s one

and then upcoming on the right is another one

so there are different operators and it’s all based on you know your preference what it is whatever else they offer and so forth I I’m not really highlighting any particular tour operator um neither did they sponsor this video I’m just simply passing through

that last operator gave me his um pamphlet whatever tour he gives now currently in 2022 for locals that is um a typical tour on a swamp boat will be around 75

you know everybody might have the individual price but that’s about the average they would usually leave at four o’clock or some other particular time they would go out into the swamp area and come back in at 6 30. the other is that we’ll do it throughout the day as well it’s not limited at that specific time you can also sponsor a boat for yourself and go out anytime you like and for that you would have to um make whatever reservations or communication with the two operators to do that now this road we have fallen you can see it on the map it goes all the way

to the end of the swamp but when I say to the end of the swarm not out to sea but to the end of the road there is a swamp the water although it’s on your right and it’s on your left you can’t see it because of the mangroves so this road will take it away you will see this one properly now interestingly enough this compound here I believe is

part of a tour operator Kalpoo’s but I’m not sure if it is also part of the overall build sanctuary area I’m not sure if you if somebody knows and they could fill me in feel free but this is more or less a private operation here however they are very accommodating and willing for you to look around take pictures and so forth

and that’s what I like the friendliness you know not subjugating you to anything specific but giving you a chance to you know get an idea of what the area is all about

you can see on the map where we are where we came from and the tour that they usually give now here’s the actual compound

and I guess it can have instruction tools maybe even an event if you like

but these are the actual mangroves

and you may be wondering well where can I actually see these colored ibis or other birds from here well really it’s if you’re lucky I’m going to show you a few today some some of them you may not be able to see if you have a really big screen you’ll be able to see it you see where that red circle was there’s some birds out there

and I’m showing you just how large these mangroves can get

and you can pretty much walk to the swamp besides the trash as we always see you have to get past this kind of broken I don’t know what to call it path wooden path

could get you closer but I wasn’t really anymore to go closer because it’s really muddy and it sinks but if you have on some big tall rubber boots I guess you can look the something that you can’t see too well from this footage is they are like mini crabs all over and I actually have to watch where I’m stepping to make sure I don’t step on any of them I’ll show you some of them later but you can you see those birds any distance

again if you have a big screen you’ll be able to see it if you’re watching this on your mobile it’s not likely that you’ll pick it up however I did manage to capture a bluebird

very nice very unique very rare to see it

you’ll see that later in this video

now these mangroves that make up part of the Caroni Swamp are really special and they’re protected it’s about 12 000 uh acres of land and it’s not only governed by local law but by international treaties and conventions

the Ramsar Convention is one of those conventions that cater for the protection of wildlife and other sanctuaries around the world

what some people don’t know about these mangroves is it’s really part big part of the biodiversity because without it that evolving biological circle of eat and eat in other words the fish come to eat by demand grows and the mangroves get their nutrients from the fish and so forth if that’s if that’s you know

hurt in some way by oil by ravish by humans or whatever it affects everything in the in the long run so these mangroves need to be protected and I’m not no I’m not a biologist I’m not a horticulturist I’m not a geologist so if any of you are more expert than me feel free to comment in the comments area of my YouTube channel fill us in more about these man groves I have some other videos where I went down south and I took some pictures of it they’re really nice to watch it’s interesting how the roots are exposed from

above

water you could see where I was playing what some of those Russians are playing I was trying to find whether the crab was alive or dead or what wasn’t moving some interesting flowers

and if you’re thinking nobodies are wrong yes there are people are wrong I’m just trying to avoid giving them any cameras view some people bring their children and stuff and I personally can’t imagine going on a boot boat ride with lots of loud children

some people like to do that

you guys know that I’m big on serenity and peace so I like to visit things I like to get the feeling of the atmosphere there’s a lot of cats in in this area and they weren’t really much bothered about what we were doing

and I guess that’s a good thing because cats are also good for keeping out rats

this is one of the loading bees where you could get into the um boots for your toes and this is what I meant when I said you could see a lot of this one this is one

area and in case you’re wondering why I don’t have songs it’s because like I mentioned before there were a lot of kids yelling and shouting any distance and I just didn’t want that to be picked up to me just took away from

you know the feel of the area

again I’m a big believer letting things be free animals plants just less in nature you know

do its own thing

and of course JB’s Man Cave is all about the raw so I’m trying to give you as much footage so you got a feeling of what it’s like to be there if you were there

taking my time so you can pick up on everything rather than racing through stuff

there was another card that or kitten that we found this kitchen was a bit strange

it was just looking down all the time

and here’s where I found that bird

can you see it if you have your phone I doubt you’ll see this but if you have a big screen you’ll pick up pick up on it’s in the center of your screen where the circle is and that bird was looking for things to eat

and I love its color there’s like a blue sheen on it

now leave any area where your dock on boats is across from it when you go across the road this is a path where a lot of the two operators come through

of course I will go on the actual swamp tour that’s another video you’ll have to look out for

but for now I’m just showing you what you can access from via land

that’s the road we came down

and really you could spend a lot of time just looking at one particular area and you start to see a lot of movement from insects crabs things that are flying like dragonflies there’s a lot of biodiversity in this area good first science project and more cats this black cat wasn’t sure what I was up to

tried to give him space while trying to capture the swamp but he was just checking me out

there he is up there

it’s like what are you doing here this bridge I don’t I don’t think it’s accessible it doesn’t look like it can hold up much weight just the weight of that cap probably

one of the surprising things that will come in here is the lack of signage there was a lot of signage on the actual road to come inside but from the highway one would think there’d be a lot of signage about the car and he swam highlighting it and so forth and I’m surprised that there isn’t

so basically you could pass here if you don’t know where you’re going you could pass it quite easily

that cat’s still waiting for me to leave

so this is more or less the

end of the road quite literally to get to the currently swarm

that is a termites nest and you can see all the trails it’s made and the mangrove

eating it away slowly

I have another video where I um actually explore a bit of a termite’s nest and a visit to the botanical gardens check my YouTube channel if you haven’t seen that

now something you always have to watch out for in a lot of these videos is the fact that there can be snakes

above and a lot of them may look just like the branches you see here of the mangroves

and the way they operate is they drop on the victims below

so not to be paranoid but you know just keep be watchful

in fact part of the tour is is is the tour operator showing you some snakes or a snake on a branch

this is closer to the road outside of the compound

and what I’m gonna show you is I’ll try to see if I can catch some actual boats passing by

the mangroves here are quite thick so

you will not be able to see a lot

on the other side of these mangroves is the actual swamp but really from this way it’s not you know readily accessible

one good thing too about mangroves is they prevent coastal erosion

so really anywhere that you there’s that problem you would want to have mine groups

and there’s one of the um boats on there’s two of them actually I was trying to get what they were pointing to but I didn’t I couldn’t see it from here could have been a snake

not sure

can you see it that’s what they are looking at

I know you get an idea of what a tour would be like

and if you are wrong for mother’s day on my channel you would have recognized this flower this is where I got it from

well I hope you enjoyed the uh short tour today of Caroni Swamp from online feel free to check it out or arrange your own tour make sure to check out my other videos and please do subscribe thanks for watching

Other walking videos: Walking Around San Fernando, Trinidad

Montrose Chaguanas Trinidad

Hello friends this is JB from JB’s Man Cave and today we will be walking towards the east on the Southern Main Road to Montrose a area within Chaguanas if you haven’t seen it I did a bonus proper video where we are walking in the opposite direction heading west on Chaguanas Main Road into Chaguanas proper where the shopping is the market and so forth if you haven’t seen it you can always check it after this video you could watch it first all those videos are located on JB’s Man Cave YouTube channel and you can view them all I’ve covered most areas within the country

MONTROSE Chaguanas Trinidad and Tobago Caribbean Walk Through Southern Main Rd by JBManCave.com

now please excuse if you had a lot of background noise it would be nice to have um a song proof room but song is something very hard to control external song letters so you may hear a dog block you may hear my boys running around or making noise in the background excuse me for that that’s a bit unpreventable in this video you also hear the natural songs as I walk on the sidewalk pavement you’ll hear people talking the vehicles the engines and so forth

now as we pass that river pass which is the highway going from north Trinidad to south we are now in Montrose you’ll see I’m the map sometime within the video known again and you will see the grey outline which shows you the area of Montrose and sugarless

just like Chaguanas proper Montrose is pretty busy this is a Saturday afternoon so some of the shops closed early but some of them are also closed because of the pandemic or even permanently closed as they and they went out of business because of the pandemic

but if you haven’t been to Montrose in a while this will give you a good idea of what it’s like now in march 2022

if you never came to Trinidad and you’re just interested in the Caribbean this is what island life looks like in that this is a busy business area of a locality within Trinidad which is an island in the Caribbean it’s in the southernmost part of the Caribbean and Trinidad does not focus as much on tourism as the other islands like maybe Barbados, Saint Lucia and others would

so these areas are not necessarily meant for tourists they’re just people living having their business and so forth

in other words you won’t see beaches and coconut trees and the typical things that they show you on these brochures has been part of the Caribbean actually this is a good example of what most of the countries like you know lots of built up areas lots of traffic lots of cars and so forth

now this is this part of um

mantras like Chaguanas proper itself allows you to get a lot of services um products that you can’t get elsewhere now many times I’ve come to Montrose for that very purpose to shop and get stuff the only thing I don’t like about shopping here in Montrose itself is two two things in particular one first of all is the traffic you can see here it’s a Saturday afternoon but this is actually light traffic for the Southern Main Road in Montrose I mean normally it’s worse than this and the parking that’s the next thing it’s really hard to get a box because some of these businesses yes they do have parking for their customers their customers are already using the park so if you come you you can’t find a park and that makes it tough because you want to stop and picture something or get a service done or whatever it is but you just can’t find a place to park and it’s not like you can leave and look because in order to leave and look you will need to enter this traffic

now as I have said in many other videos about the central area the traffic system is a bit strange for me a lot of one ways a lot of tunes on

what in my opinion has a lot of extra driving to reach from point A to point B

uh and and because of that I think it it’s a bit of a tune for people who don’t live within here who may want to come in the area to shop that’s something for local government or the ministry of works or whomever takes care of roads on infrastructure they really need to see about that

besides that this is a great area for service for products the people are very friendly very helpful

it just needs to be um have enough infrastructure out of good for people to actually come and you know purchase stuff and get over whatever service they need for their vehicle themselves whatever have you

it’s almost like that vehicle didn’t want to stop for me to pass by

in case you don’t know these sightseeing videos is not what JB’s Man Cave is totally about I mean yes I have many of them but I do make videos on lots of other stuff lots of other countries um issues crime trivia I mean there’s a lot of other stuff on JB’s Man Cave maybe you just came here because you’re just curious about you know somewhere that you lived or you want to see what it looks like now but if you truly want to take in what JB’s Man Cave is about it’s more than just hey let’s look around

so I invite you to actually look at the main page of my YouTube channel I will give you a lot of videos on various things related to society problems crime

even videos on how well you know training culture and training history

this is a fruit and vegetable stall

all the good stuff I like to eat being a vegan I don’t eat meat or any animal products

so I devour a lot of vegetables fruits peas beans

and I’m very healthy for it where people whereas people around me get sick they feel aches and beings I feel good I keep running I keep going

and at the same time I’m saving animals livestock

one thing that you know normally I make videos where I’m driving and I put the camera on a wide view so you could pick up both both sides of the uh road left and right but of course walking has the advantage or although it’s a bit slow you know I can turn and turn the camera so you can get a good view of each street and that’s what I’m doing here as I walk you know I’m trying to pick up all the side streets how many businesses are wrong especially if you maybe had a business here before or lived in the area and because I’m using an extension rod I’m able to give angles that you just can’t get

from a vehicle

and I know some of you just love this new um I don’t want to call it a fad or phase but aerial shots are nice drones are nice but you know a drone cannot pick up what you’re seeing here and it’s nice to get an idea of what the area looks like but looking from above you just cannot get the gist of the ground level view the roots level view of an area at the same time you don’t want to be totally at eyesight level meaning you know the normal height of a person because then you can’t pick up other stuff and that’s why I have the best of the both wheels by using an extension and a lens that can go 360. I can give you various heights on levels of what the area looks like and the stabilizer on this

extension rod is really good

helps you to focus more on the background and the stuff around

you know jittering or shaking and if you like what I do you can always become a patron you can always feel free to donate just go to JBManCave.com or JBorde.com and hit the donation link make sure to read what you are doing and making a donation donations are just because you like to support what I’m doing you like work of what I’m doing it’s not to influence me to go to any particular angle be it a space particular area or a political view or so forth it’s just because you like what I’m doing and you want to support it and for that I’m grateful

one thing I love about so many places in this area and for the city to level foreign

technical ability of the mechanics electricians and so forth they really know what they’re doing I actually leave north to come in central to get you know aiming service on my truck and so forth and they charge reasonable as well no not I don’t know where I you know up north I find everything is about the big dollar sign rather than concentrating on doing a good job so I tend to come along here to get my truck service and get a few other things even buying groceries or whatever if you’re here in a rooster any background it’s really annoying for me for some reason my neighbors decided that they would have chickens as pets and I’m not joking I mean they don’t thank goodness they don’t choose to eat them but I don’t know about how they know roosters are pet I mean that that was just such an annoying noise for me to head up we’re still going off just any time especially when I’m recording and I’m not uh focusing on just roosters uh dogs too the hair dog barking constantly for no reason I mean if there’s somebody any kid or somebody jumping over the wall yes you can bark but when you have a dog just yapping constantly barking at every little thing that passes by that’s a level of distress and when you’re recording a video like this even more so

now

now you see that covering on that pavement that we just went over that is a hazard and it does not reflect just Montrose it reflects most of the country

this goes along the lines of infrastructure you could see all the weeds on these on the pavement the road and each covering we pass you notice it’s different some have concrete some have metal some are broken some are uneven some are not even there at all so you know if you’re a blind person you have

some sort of challenge or even a wheelchair you could you could not pass it you would not be able to pass on this sidewalk pavement to get from point a to point b

and probably you know you may say oh well you know probably the country doesn’t have money or this is just a third-world country a banana republic let me tell you this country makes a lot of money the management of it is questionable how it is spent is questionable but I i don’t think money is the issue there’s just a drive a cultural drive to get things done and get it done properly that has always bothered me about things in Trinidad and Tobago I know I will not be pointing fingers at any particular party or person I am not about that especially here on

but for me yeah after year it’s more or less the same no matter who is in power

I think we can do better

by the way some of you may ask repetitive questions like why do I blue some places or some people and you know you can check the description sometimes I will answer these questions in the description because some people ask the same question over and over but just to answer you quick here now I blur videos because sometimes I want to protect the person especially if it’s a child I don’t want to show their face it’s actually quite convenient for me right now that everybody more or less wears their masks because of pandemic that’s sort of like a blue automatically for me I don’t have to worry about people being sent of the video now based on my understanding of the laws with regards to photography videography locally you can basically take pictures of anything in public you know as long as you’re not making you know x person the center of your your video or your um picture uh you know you need to ask for their permission but in a public setting like this where I’m just moving and I’m really taking a general picture of everything that’s all good

however I like to keep children out so if I happen to get a picture of a child on their face that

I I rather remove them sometimes people are in some awkward position too and I also do that

so we’re standing here this is a t-junction and that where we’re facing now that that sort of ends the Southern Main Road the other main road turns left in this case and goes back north whereas where we are facing now that’s the Caparo Valley Brasso Road and that will take us into Londenville

which I have been to before I’ve passed through there if you haven’t seen those videos I don’t know if I leave labeled it long then well maybe it’s just that I passed through there on my way to palmers or some other place but um I have been in those areas before so if you’re looking for video on those areas you can always just check it out like I said jv’s man cave as many videos on various parts of your life people often say well why don’t you why don’t you record this why don’t you go to this place and many times I’ve already been there you know you just use within YouTube there is a search now you have to be careful which search you use you’re not searching all of YouTube you just want to search my channel and if you search my channel that’s in the next search option below the original YouTube search bar if you use that to search my channel you’ll find or a list of all the videos or you could go to the playlist of my driving videos if you really can’t find it just put in the comments you would like to see assassin’s creed area and I will link the video to it for you or if I haven’t really been there because some of you may list some very specific areas you want me to visit if I haven’t been there yet well then I would say so

but for me I use my PC (personal computer) for all interaction with videos social media and so forth I just I don’t know if you’re like me but I just do not like using phones

I just don’t get the air the

the idea of why I should use this small screen on my finger I like a lot of accuracy I like a lot of power and

using digital media and phones generally don’t have that no matter okay

so we’re going on the Southern Main Road now and we are going to make a sh loop at some point we will turn left onto John Street that’s where the yellow car just came out on the left that’s a doubles vendor they sell a snack food made of bara which is flour and channa which is chickpeas in a curry

and it can taste quite good but for me I um I don’t really eat a lot of outside food and if I do I’m very very particular about where I eat things like that

everybody locally tends to have their person that they go to for things like doubles

if you have a particular person that you think is really good they’re hygienic their flavors are really flavor season their food is good and that they are consistent feel free to tell me any comments area about them so we just passed that um part of the pavement that was literally a hole had no covering that’s what I was talking about

now years ago all these areas could have been just a lot of grassland

or not much going on but as time passes by a lot of me roads tend to become congested with buildings concrete and as I have said in many other videos if you looked at this would you know it’s a Caribbean island

you wouldn’t know where this is we have all our natural flora and from our trees and just replaced it with concrete and asphalt and a lot of pools electrical pools electricity pools and wires running here and there and it’s nothing beautiful I wish we could do more to keep trees and and plants and stuff around you know people may do it for the individual houses but I mean to just generally beautify the place we could have more than unless of the concrete

by the way another thing that um some people I realize um are confused about when you see that subscribe button or you hear me asked for you to subscribe I’m not asking for money you know subscriptions are free you just have to click the button and if it asks you to log in it’s because it wants you to log in with your gmail.com so in order to subscribe you must have a gmail account

it’s free just the subscription just let you keep in touch with JB, that’s me, JB there and lets you know about new videos now I release videos every day sometimes twice or three times a day every day so really you can check me every day but just so you know the moment I release a video you can subscribe and you’ll get that

prompt from YouTube or the YouTube app if you use your phone but really if you want a full max experience with some of these sightseeing trips the really the best way is to go home turn on your big screen if you have a big screen TV or your computer monitor and watch from there because you really can’t get the gist of this from

trust what I’m saying try it if you haven’t

the screen of the phone just too small you’ll get little bits here and there but you won’t get the full detail of these trips

this is drawn straight to the travel we’re walking down there’s a more or less a residential area you will not get a lot of shops here although they are like for instance we just passed our bar there not something that’s I don’t know I guess it depends on here at the area but people in Trinidad are allowed to have bars in residential areas and for some of you abroad that may seem strange for me that is right living right here it’s strange I just don’t understand

they need to have a bar next to residential houses but that’s just how it is in Caribbean life island life

what do you think do you have a bar located where you live I mean like a few houses away or right there in your residential area how do you feel about you okay with that you think they’re just trying to make money or do you think these places should be more in commercial places on main roads and so forth tell me what you think in my YouTube channel

so we’re heading back to the Southern Main Road in Montrose and we are going to be tuning right

I’m heading west

oh

now the sun is in front of us a little bit to the top of your screen and when light shines towards the camera it tends to make a lot of shades and darken the colors so it’s a bit different to how it is compared to when we were going east you know I know

by the way doing this for me is fun because it allows me to get my exercise a lot of time I’m cooped up at home and don’t get a chance to get out enough especially with the pandemic and this allows me to go out and get a good few miles of walk in it because that’s what we have done here by

walking on the Southern Main Road in Montrose and making this loop I’m sure I’ve covered maybe uh two or three miles at least now sometimes if you see me um gold camera like that just to show you just how this sidewalks are uneven

again if you had a wheelchair or you had some challenge

going up and down this would be a nightmare and of course you have people that park on the pavement too which doesn’t help but just imagine a wheelchair and you have this obstacle

I mean you just won’t be able to do it

it’s just not made with people of all challenges in mind

and it’s even unsafe for anybody who does not have a challenge because they’re often broken up or whatever and a lot of times it’s because

people are given different little jobs to fix in there but there isn’t a standard like something to follow that says every time you walk on a pavement a sidewalk it needs to be done this way not just a patch here a little bit there a fix here no you can only use these materials you have to use this to these specifications and so forth

standards I think are very important and clearly missing with regards to infrastructure

and very hard to reverse to get people to do it too because now you have to go through years of people just putting up whatever buildings or doing whatever stuff are wrong and to upload it and fix it and do it over properly is gonna cost a lot of money and manpower

we’re gonna pan a bit it’s probably an excuse for me to take a little rest

that’s east

is

this guy in front of us was talking about he seemed to be rather happy

so if we passed by him and he had many karma well he was pretty much doing all the talking by himself

hey

some of you have asked me what a trinity woman like what a trained man like and so forth and that is to me

a question that that you know you really can’t answer as saying Trinis or this or that and if I went to the u.s or UK and I said what are what are people from the UK like or us you know it really depends on who you meet in general in general I would say Chinese are more or less friendly um they’re willing to accommodate you to an extent trainees love to talk talk about anything even if they not don’t necessarily know what they’re talking about I mean for instance they would get into something like let’s say the war in Ukraine right now in Russia but they would just speak about it loosely and probably most of it is based on something they saw on the news rather than do their research about you know what the Ukraine is about why Russia is even attacking it and I’m saying this in general of course there are trainees who are very studious academic will do their research and stuff but in general most trainees just you know talk loosely about things and that’s anything even problems in the country crime or whatever they will speak… speak loosely about it all the time in a rum shop talk manner and what I mean by that is that we have something here called rum shop talk which means you know you kind of talk your hair when you go to drink with your pals or whatever well trainees like to talk like that make you know make humor and jokes about basically anything and that’s how Caribbean life is island life but at some time sometimes for me it can be distressing because sometimes serious issues mean seriousness but everything is a joke or whatever

so just like any place or any group of people you have your good persons your not so good persons you’re friendly you’re not so friendly and so forth however I do plan to make a video about men and women in Trinidad I’m sure you would like to see that but I also made a video some time ago if you haven’t seen it about faithfulness in relationships with regards to men and women that’s a topic that

is on the minds of people here but sometimes it’s taboo to talk about it nobody likes to be as they call it here honed

which means somebody was who is your partner your spouse whatever it was unfaithful and I bet you didn’t know I have videos like that on JB’s Man Cave but I do like I said you know JB’s Man Cave is not just about sightseeing make sure to check out all these videos I would love to see your comments in them

so we’re continuing on Montrose and then back to Chaguanas proper

panning again showing any progress we’ve made that’s east

and that’s west and somebody made a comment on one of my videos you know sometimes you get so used to something that you don’t realize it but in addition to for instance how bad the pavements are here we have mental sidewalks by the way depending where you’re from there are no street markets so you don’t see the dashes or the line on the roads or if they are there they are really faded

funny enough this particular pigment sidewalk has a white marking on it on the road itself doesn’t yeah we should

and that’s an infrastructural problem again

you know what’s really good about um this area and Montrose as well there’s a lot of places to learn

you know you know academics your books from school whatever you need extra help tutoring etc a lot of places also some I believe after school horses

some of you who may have done accounting and stuff in the past would probably remember that

and lots of stuff for vehicles

now the temperature here it’s a pretty cool day it’s sunny

I was actually in the beginning of this video if you notice any background there was a a big thick grey sky I don’t know if you noticed you know I was worried that this would end up being one of those videos where it was everything was just gray and gloomy but it turned out to be pretty good

and um I like to drink a lot of water and not have to stay cool so for me it was relatively cool although there wasn’t any breeze or other people they may have been feeling really hot and if you eat a lot of um flour milk meats those things heat up your body and can make you perspire

I don’t eat any of that stuff and drink a lot of water so I remain cool

allows me to keep going

does the highway the overpass those vehicles are heading further into central or south

this road will take you to bahadur and sings which is a hardware program on other places within Montrose and we are continuing here on the Southern Main Road heading west

some people get curious so excited when they see this camera extension

somebody was just asking if I was going to the capitol which I’m not

this is where a lot of people would have spent their days waiting for a taxi or the bus or maxi

everybody

there seems to be some kind of religious

I don’t know what to call it excitement every time I come to Chaguanas I see all these people passing all blue booklets talking about religion and so forth what’s going on with that

I don’t see that much in Port of Spain but every time I come to Chaguanas there are people handing out things

talking about religions shouting

if you know what that’s about feel free to comment in my YouTube channel

all right so we are going to this this is actually all part of my chosen left according to the map um the center mall also falls within that boundary as well as massey the other side is siobhan is proper anyway we are going to head here and then on to ramsar on street

I’m heading back to price club which is one of my favorite places to

come and shop get all the stuff we need

and that’s not not that any way affiliated with price code but I do find this is good and

when we had leaflets or anything to do with autism and embarrass things and helping special needs persons they were always very accommodating so we have never forgotten that

that Massey stores in case you don’t know is what used to be known as Hi-Lo they changed the name a few years back in order to I don’t know if it’s the correct word is monopolize a lot of their

services on products they know handle vehicles mechanic jobs to win food pharmacy and I think at one point real estate although that closed down I believe I can’t remember

so folks I hope that you enjoyed

this walkthrough

Montrose and Chaguanas make sure to subscribe like I said it’s free donate if you want to you’re under no obligation but I don’t refuse help either mid center mall

this place on the right they sell lights and various other things it’s like a haberdashery but the building’s shape and look is very unique to me it reminds me of Morecambe, a place called Morecambe in England that is

on a seafront it has it has a lot of buildings that looks like that at least when I was there and always reminds me of that

so I’m gonna walk a little bit forward here on to the left so you can see a bit in to where then center more

Walking Around San Fernando, Trinidad

Hello friends, we are going to see the city of San Fernando here in Trinidad an island in the Caribbean. Right now, I’m at the Carlton Centre just above the JTA supermarket in the car park they didn’t have any space below so I had to go all the way on the top so I’m giving you a view of some of the city.

I’m gonna be living natural songs in this video as well as giving a commentary but I won’t be commenting all the time and you know why this video is almost two hours long don’t get scared though because all my videos are unedited raw and you get to see exactly what I see I’m actually walking over the whole of the city of San Fernando covering major streets so you can’t see what it is like today. This is someday in April, 2022.

Trini Politics – Political Ads in Trinidad and Tobago

Trinis love to talk about politics and will often attempt to make any situation or event political. This channel is not a political avenue but many who watch try to relate a totally unrelated video into politics.

POLITICS Trinidad and Tobago Do Slanderous Political Ads bring Votes? JBManCave.com

As an example, a recent video about UFO sightings became political banter… UFO sightings? Politics? Noooo.

Anyway, today I wanted to talk about something that is constantly pushed on us during any election in Trinidad and Tobago.

Slanderous and demeaning ads are usually created with a debatable humorous tone targeted at the other political party in what would seem to be a personal attack.

Slandering to make a point?

The idea is to beat down the words and character of the other party to dissuade voters.

The main problem with this tactic is it leaves little room for actually saying what is being offered or has been done by the opponent creating the ads.

Let’s picture it this way. Let’s say we have an unemployed single mom who is trying to make ends meet.

At the end of the day, mom cares only about providing a meal for her child, that rent is paid and she can survive making an income legally.

She does not care about how well you can speak, your color, your degrees or how much you verbally can put down other people.

What she cares about is that she can meet the basic needs of life.

I have spoken about this more in depth in my video called, “Walk the Talk”, make sure to see it if you haven’t.

But, for now, let’s get back to needs.

Maslow’s hierarchy of needs

There is a well used theory by right thinking leaders called, “Maslow’s hierarchy of needs”.

Basically, it shows what people need the most before they can venture onto something else… hence my example of the single mom.

She cannot think about other things if she has no food to eat or is afraid that she may be assaulted while walking in her neighborhood.

In fact, that is basic for anyone, single or not, male or female, any race, any age.

Ergo, here in Trinidad and Tobago, I believe everyone should see that people are tired of hearing put downs and slander.

And that is any political party or politician — although some do it way more than others.

People need to know that they can feel safe, that there is transparency, equality and the ability to earn a stable income.

They want to know what you can do for them, to make their lives better.

Better Communication

It is high time that as a people we focus on a new age of communication.

One in which we assume competence, and not like we are all toddlers running around with not enough intelligence or wisdom to see what is happening.

Because believe me, we can see what is happening because we LIVE it everyday, right here at ground zero.

If you don’t know or have forgotten, leave your air condition offices and cars and come check us… the man on the street, we can give you a reality check.

So what do you think about the political banter and ads in Trinidad and Tobago?

Feel free to comment on my YouTube channel and give your points — keeping it clean of course, remember what I just said.

UFOs, Aliens and Spacecraft in Trinidad and Tobago

Like most children, I’ve always been interested in outer space, spacecraft, UFOs and the concept of aliens.

UFO Aliens Trinidad and Tobago UFO Sightings Alien Encounters Caribbean by JBManCave.com

Science fiction many may call it as some people will often shrug off the topic of UFOs because they feel there is a lack of evidence.

Yet, many push to the cinema and stream on demand to see blockbusters involving Star Trek, Star Wars or superheroes from Krypton.

As a teen, I would look up at the Caribbean sky at night to view the many stars.

Stars that move at night

Sometimes I would be lucky to see a moving star, no, not a falling star… a satellite in orbit which often looks like a star that moves along an undeviating path.

If you have never seen that try looking up at the night sky and look for any object that looks like a star but moves.

It is not easy to find but if you are patient you will see it.

Of course, that is not the same as seeing an actual UFO which witnesses have claimed to be much bigger and closer than a satellite in orbit.

Credible evidence of UFOs

Recently, the United States released official military footage that acknowledges that there are indeed unidentified flying objects among us.

Testimony from hundreds of people including military officers claim to have seen objects that defy our known laws of physics.

Anyone who still doubts UFOs should read and listen to the reports. This is no longer science fiction.

UFOs in Trinidad and Tobago

But… what about Trinidad and Tobago?

I don’t know how many of you remember this… but some years ago one of the major television stations broadcast the appearance of strange bright lights in a forest in Trinidad.

The phenomenon occurred each night for 2-3 days yet no one could offer an explanation about it.

There have also been more personal accounts by Trinis about UFOs.

Recently, I was listening to the radio and one of the announcers mentioned being in Tobago on vacation.

She said that another person and herself were looking up at the night sky just star gazing when they spotted what they thought was the light from a satellite like I described earlier.

However, when that light suddenly made a sharp turn and moved in a different direction with speed like they have never seen before they looked at each other and knew it was neither a plane nor a satellite.

UFO accounts by people in Trinidad and Tobago

In one account by the username Steve Wooler he claims to have seen this in 2008,

“For around 20 minutes from around 9:15pm last night, the sky over Stonehaven Bay was filled with vivid orange lights. It was almost like a firework display. A number of lights appeared from roughly the north-east, travelling over Plymouth and heading out across Buccoo towards Trinidad. At first I thought it was a couple of helicopters, but they showed no green/red aircraft lights and were just a bright orange ‘ball’.” Source

Here is another one:

On the 5th February, 2015, at approx. 7:45pm whilst sitting in my car in an area known as Jones Terrace, Cunupia, Trinidad, I saw what appeared to be two very bright stars in the southern sky. I could be described as a ‘star gazer’ as I often gaze into the sky. These two star looking objects caught my attention because I had never seen what appeared to be two large stars that close. Hence, I became very amused and kept looking at them. Suddenly, one of the lights took off with such great speed moving further southward and then faded away. In my excitement, I called out to my two daughters to see it, but, they were unable to see the fleeting light. My two daughters then joined me and we travelled to our home at Homeland Gardens Cunupia – a 5min journey. Interestingly, whilst sitting in our car, I again was amused by what appeared to be a very bright light in the eastern sky. There was a full moon and the bright light was not far off. It was moving but, not like an aircraft does. Furthermore, that light seemed to be composed of/associated with other lights (blue and red). And, the lights were not like that of a helicopter or winged aircraft. The object kept moving and stopping. When it stopped, it rotated and kept projecting powerful red lights at a patterned interval. The pattern was like that of a Morse code. That activity lasted for approx. one min. and then the object disappeared. Fortunately, my daughters were able to witness that with me. I do not know what we saw, but I seek feedback from anyone in Trinidad who might have witnessed similar occurrences on that day. Source

What do Trinis think about the UFO topic?

Now, if you were to whip up a conversation about UFOs how do typical Trinis generally react to this topic? Like everything else, it is taken without the serious deliberation it deserves.

However, I would be very interested in meeting any Trinis who would like to relate their experiences in seeing UFOs, aliens or even abduction.

Feel free to tell us your story in the comments area of my Youtube channel or contact me to setup an interview.

Also, there is another channel I manage that covers UFO experiences by witnesses from all over the world, however is in Spanish so check it out if you can understand the lingo. Just go to Inexplicados.com or look for Inexplicados on Youtube.
